Was replacing some blast gates and tried these. I'm sold! They work so much better than what I had. Seal much better and suction improved greatly. Also easy to get the hose on and clamped. They appear to be stronger than the older ones that could separate and the seams.

I really like these new style gates. They leak less and therefore are much quieter, and by losing less airflow they create better suction.

I bought a few of these blast gates almost 2 years ago and giving my feedback after getting plenty of time to use them. Overall they're worth the money given that they're very very inexpensive. They do have one little flaw though and it's not that surprising, after many uses and dozens of gallons of dust flowing through added with opening and closing the gates several times a week to use certain tools, they build with dust on the inside recess and eventually stop allowing them to close all the way. Took me about a month to realize this. I typically have one gate for my planer and one for my tablesaw. After a while i started noticing that when I used my planer (planer blast gate open and tablesaw blast gate closed) there was dust coming up and out of my table saw. Eventually it started shooting up and out of my tablesaw and couldn't figure out why because the blast gate was closed. After taking everything apart and open/closing the blast gate with it off I could see it wasn't closing all the way. I used some picks and dug out dust that was mashed inside the inner groove where the gate is supposed to sit. It was staying open about 3/4". After scraping the inner groove it closed all the way again. My advise for these is to use a marker, make a mark on the outside of the gate when it's fully closed (picture included). Then if you ever can't see that mark anymore it's because the gate isn't closing all the way.

I have tried several blast gates, and I especially like this one because it is very air-tight compared to some others. They fit a 4" PVC pipe fine and can be tightened to the wall with zip ties around the PVC pipe close to the gate and wood staples. I especially needed this, as different people would be using the gate, and they needed to be fastened so that the piping would not move when the gate was opened and closed.

I'm using in schedule-40 PVC dust collection system along with some metal blast gates. These are even better. If it wasn't such a PITA to get them all out, I'd replace the metal ones with these.

These are awesome. They are mildly harder to operate than the black ones, but they don't clog like the black ones. Highly recommend.

Much better than the black ones they have. The gates for the black ones eventually became loose and wouldn't stay up. These last longer and feels more sturdy.

I'm replace my existing 4" lines with 2.5". These gates work so much nicer than my old ones. Very impressed.

Sadly not quite true 100mm outer diameter so very loose on ducting. Added a rubber strip glued in place all the way around the blast gate inlet and outlet which sorted the problem
