Easy assembly, sturdy cabinet, covered in sawdust in the boxes.
I bought this cabinet for the DVD storage, in spite of some negative reviews about the doors not holding up over the long haul. It went together nicely, though the instructions are somewhat lacking in making it clear which sides are the finished edges. I read some reviews with complaints that it's not "real wood." Well duh! I've had plenty of other particle board furniture and this one seems pretty solid to me.Door storage - there are no straps to hold your DVDs on the door shelves. If you don't want them to fly off when you open to door, you will have to pack each row tightly.Assembly:I was able to assemble this myself. It took me a couple of hours. A mid-length phillips screwdriver and hammer (to attach the back cover) was all I needed. Keep in mind this cabinet is quite heavy, so it will pay to put it together near it's final location unless you have some extra help to move it later. For me the doors were the hardest part to install. They are quite heavy and therefore hard to hold in place while attaching the hinges to the cabinet. After nearly wrecking the screw holes by mounting all the hinges on the doors first as instructed, I found mounting the middle hinge on the cabinet and the other two on the door worked best for me.The unit comes with a strap (zip tie) and mounting brackets to attach it to a stud in the wall. At first I wasn't sure why this was needed, but I remembered an old VHS cabinet we had with door storage. When both doors were opened, the unit would tip forward. This unit seems pretty stable, even with the doors loaded, so I didn't install the strap. I suppose if the doors were loaded and the inside was left empty, there could be a tip hazard, so you may want to use the mounting strap.Packaging:The cabinet came in two very sturdy boxes with sturdy foam in the corners for extra protection. While the all the pieces were all undamaged, they were covered with particle board sawdust. It was everywhere, on every board, and was quite the mess to clean up. At first I was worried that this would mean the unit was going to be in bad shape, but surprisingly, it was fine (see photos). While I don't speak Spanish, I did notice the instructions were in English and French only. It's possible someone who speaks neither could still assemble the cabinet from the pics, but I'm glad I didn't have to do that.

Beautiful stand.
Beautiful stand. This is a really nice stand. It does mention that it is designed for 55" TV but I'm currently using it to hold a 65" Sony LED TV. The legs on the TV are closer to the middle than the edge and that is the only reason it can hold it so do bear that in mind if you also have a 65" TV you're looking to plop on here. The instructions are pretty idiot-proof. I assembled this thing in about 1 hour or so. The matte finish is super clean and modern and very compact. It does not take a lot of room at all and is fairly light considering it's size and capability. I'm also using it to hold a Sony STR-DN1050 receiver which JUST about fits in the centre bottom with very minimal ventilation but I knew that risk entering. The stand is very low without the legs, 19-inches tall which is exactly what I was looking for as the stand we had before this put the TV far too high and would strain our necks to watch. This stand creates the illusion of an even larger TV as it is closer to eye level and the TV takes up all of the space on the stand. You have the option to use the legs if you want to but I like the height that my TV is currently at so I chose not to use them.My only gripe I have with this stand is that there were some minor scuffs and scratches on the top panel of the stand when it arrived and it's not ideal, but I don't eat my dinner off it so I'm not going to go out of my way to spend more money to replace a surface I barely look at.All in all, this is the exact type of stand I was looking for to modernise a living room entertainment centre. If you're limited for space like I was and are looking for something which is well built, looks beautiful and won't break the bank, I can't really say you can do much better because I spent many hours trying to find something to compete with this and could not.

Works great for me I just wish it didn't cost as much as it did.
I was in need of an entertainment center that wasn't bulky and could hold me DVDs. This worked out great! I ordered this on the 14th and it took about a week to arrive.Despite the reviews from some who had bad experiences, I decided to take a chance on this. It is slightly larger than I anticipated but it's really not an issue for me. I don't have a large tv but I needed the storage space. It is heavy and, in my opinion, sturdy, but that may be because my tv isn't a large one. So far it is holding about 230 DVDs and a few box sets and is almost at capacity. Depending on how many box sets you have will depend on how much it can hold.It arrived straight to my door in two packages, THANK THE LORDT, because both were heavy. The only issues I really had with this was the body pieces were not labeled, so the similar pieces took a bit of time to correctly organize with the directions and figure out which were which. A few of the pieces also has tiny knicks but that doesn't really bother me because they're tiny enough that you can't see them unless you're up close and personal. The doors also don't come with any sort of way to keep the DVDs that are in the door from falling out when you open the door, but I fixed that problem easily with some elastic and a staple gun. And I think lastly, the pieces were covered in saw dust so it made me sneeze quite a bit while putting it together, which took about 2 and a half hours to put together. Simply because the pieces took time to organize.

Nice stand... but it comes with issues.
Received this yesterday and put it together last night.First let me say that it is a nice looking stand. It looks especially nice when paired with a pair of the Daniel Accent Tables , one at each end. However there are several issues here that should be noted before buying...1) The top and bottom boards are hollow core... Not exactly what you'd expect of something that is intended to hold a heavy television.2) The finish is easily marked. If you put your TV directly on this stand it's likely to leave a permanent mark.3) There were several rough and sharp edges around the edges of the top and bottom boards. A little bit of time with a sanding block fixed that quite nicely.4) The fasteners and screws were over drilled and I would have been a lot happier if putting them in required just a little bit more work. I didn't strip any of them, but it would be very easy to do. Dipping the threads of the assembly posts into some wood glue before installing should help.5) The wooden sag-board under the stand is taller than the legs. To make it sit properly (especially on carpet) you will need to adjust the legs out (taller) by quite a bit. It's a good thing I checked this before assembling the bottom as I would almost certainly have broken that board otherwise.Don't get me wrong, this is a nice stand. I like it. But you do need to be aware when buying. Daniel Accent Tables

Weight capacity was misleading
Arrived on time unfortunately with scratches on several pieces. Very disappointed to find out that the 180 lb weight capacity advertised is actually 100 lbs only on top and 20 in each of the four open spaces. I bought this specifically because of the high weight capacity because I have 110 lb tv. It seems to be holding it ok so far, time will tell. The stand is inexpensive and it looks kind of cheap, so you get what you pay for with this item. Assembly was fairly easy.

Practical and cost effective
My son and I assembled this in about an hour. As other reviewer's say, be careful you do not scratch the unit. But ouirs came with some some touch-up paint. Didn't open it yet, so I cannot say if it is wax or paint. The design is very impressive, as it holds our VHS, Xbox360, Xbox1, Wii, Nintendo 64, and a Playstation! And most of the cables are not visible! My wife loves that it is off of the ground so it can be cleaned under. We added pads under the legs and cross-brace, so that it slides nicely on the floor. Great for those who are careful with their furniture. But it wouldn't last long for a family with kids crawling on everything.

I'd buy again
Well built and solid. The assembly instructions are good but you have to be a little careful when reading the assembly diagrams. The are not difficult just counter intuitive. The assembly diagrams show the black side (finished side) as white and the shaded part of the diagram which is grey is for the unfinished side. It is not a huge deal but I did manage to assemble one of the panels backwards before I caught the mistake.

Great sturdy Black Gloss TV Stand-Excellent for the money
This was great for the wife's 50" Plasma, I purchased a 65" Smart UHD K TV, so gave her the 50" Plasma, she even put this stand together herself. Took about an hour, simple assembly, holds the heavy plasma easily, and has nice shelves for other things. For the money, it's a great buy. And it's made in Canada, support the Canadian companies. Very sturdy and dependable, it's a nice gloss black, it is made of particle board veneer, but can't tell. Heavy to hold a Plasma, as Smart TV's are a lot lighter. Delivered in 3 days.
