Looks and sounds great!
Arrived as advertised. Very minor imperfections (like if you put your eyeball up to it some of the tiny dots might not form a straight line) but otherwise looks exactly as in the photo so I'm not taking off any points for that. Probably also my favourite of the Meinl artisan doumbek designs. Sounds great, feels nice to use, and it's felt worth every penny :)

Item is used and resold
I got delivered something that was used and returned. Has a lot of chip marks on it and scratches on the drum. Visible wear and tear.

Superb sounding Doumbek / Darbouka
Boy, did I do a lot of research when it came time to buy my first doumbek. I was looking for the best under £250 and was drawn to this one after watching and listening to every video on YT. Top result. It's got a lovely low end, a wonderful slap and fantastic ring on the rim. Amazing response off the taught Meinl head, too. It's glitzy, yes, but that seems to be the theme with the ones built in Egypt, which I believe this one was. It's also as smooth as the smoothest thing which makes it supremely comfortable on the lap but also very slippery, so be sure keep a gentle grip.I'm a very discerning semi-pro musician buyer – and also a practicing consumer journalist – so I know good gear when I see it and hear it. This is as good a buy as a my Sonor SQ1 kit and Benny Greb snare. Very happy.
