Wonderful for hobbyist "helping hands"
I also used this to make helping hands. A 1/4 inch loc-line connector is screwed into a drilled and tapped cutting board, the loc-line snapped on, and a small alligator clip attached to the free end. I currently have five "helping hands" coming out of the same small cutting board . The cutting board was drilled and then tapped with this 1/4 inch to 18 NPT tap . I picked the alligator clips out of this collection of alligator clips. For my initial versions, I just hot glued the clip to the smaller loc-lne nozzle. This Loc-Line assembly tool will save you endless frustration. For my use, the cheap knockoffs work pretty well too, but I haven't peel hot glue off the yet or hit them with a soldering iron.. The loc-line brand is tough quality stuff though that that I have dripped hot glue onto, have dripped solder onto, and have bumped with the hot end of a soldering iron. The loc-line stuff is still fine after the abuse. Also, the knock-off I tested is not compatible with the loc-line brand. The loc-line has bigger balls on the segment ends.
