Fab-u-lous dye! 👍
Quick Backstory: M&S were recently selling a Utility Style Gillet, both in Black as well as White. Unfortunately, any stores I went to there was no black gilets in stock - only white - and unfortunately we cannot buy online due to a recent cyber attack on their website. Not wanting to go home empty-handed, I had a lightbulb moment, why not just dye a white one black? And that's what I did!I did my homework carefully on dyes, as well as the fabric composition of my gilet, and settled on Fabricoat black dye. And I'm glad I did!Compared to other dyes, with Fabricoat you literally just paint it on the fabric you want to dye. Just dampen your chosen fabric first, and paint away! I used a combination of a small paint roller and a narrow brush for the harder crevices on my gilet. So far so good! I've completed the outside of the gilet, and once that's dried in a couple of days, I'll be doing the same on the inside of it.I wasn't sure if a single bottle would suffice, but I'm confident I'll have enough left to do the inside once the gilet has dried.Super delighted with the outcome so far. Very pigmented and with a slight viscous about it which makes it easy to apply without running all over the place.Happy customer, would buy again.

Great for DIY project, car restoration
I used this fabric dye paint on my car seat belts they were originally cream but over time stained with dirt that wouldn't wash off so I dyed them to match the other parts of the interior brown and cream looks nice and smart now I also used abit in the cream leather steering wheel that was also stained with macanic greece oil and dirt wasn't sure it would work it's fabric dye bit still worked on my steering wheelIt's not watery runny dye it's like paint thick and easy to apply it says 2 hrs to dry but It was hot day so it dried fast small bottle but it done 5 seat belts and a steering wheel still tiny bit left in bottle case I need itSo if your doing a big project might need more then one bottle 5 starts off me doenst rib off on my clothing it's great dye paint

Good product
Great product, covers well but you do need to keep fabric damp or can go a bit patchy

Very small bottle and expensive
Reading the description it states that 1 bottle should cover a headboard. Definitely NOT !!!We followed all of the instructions and could not cover anywhere near what the description stated. You would need 3 - 4 bottles to cover a double headboard to ensure the colour is solid. The bottles are very small and I would say expensive for what you get.I would Not purchase this again.

Too expensive to justify
Honest Review of Fabric Coat PaintIf you’re looking to revive a faded colour on a small item, this paint definitely does the job—especially with just one or two coats. However, if you’re planning to completely change the colour (e.g. dark grey to black), be prepared to apply at least 3–4 coats.I used nearly an entire bottle just to cover two seat pad cushions (each 60cm x 60cm), and that was after three coats. At this rate, to complete the full set of garden cushions, I’d need several more bottles—which starts to make the project costly and time-consuming. Add in the mess, and honestly, I’d be better off just buying new cushions. That said, for small touch-ups or colour refreshes, it does work well. Just manage your expectations and think about the size of your project before committing.

Easy to use fabric paint
Fantastic fabric paint. Easy to apply, great colour. Used it to update a bed base and it took less than an hour to get done. Very happy DIYer. Took half a bottle to do all sides so I have extra for touch ups if needed.

Great Product
I used this fabric paint to change the colour of a grubby grey pouffe. I chose the brown and it went on brilliantly. A 250ml bottle was more than enough, still deciding whether to put another coat on. It dried within 2 hours and doesn't rub off onto clothes.
