DO NOT BUY!!! Amazon does not stand behind their Amazon Basics product. Purchased this item (less than 2 years ago) and have only used a handful of times. Items are now getting jammed causing me to waste product. I tried to get product support and their support page (Chinese) is now just exclusively for pet items. I contacted them and did not receive a response. After contacting them a couple of times and receiving no response from them, I contacted Amazon customer service. Amazon customer service then said that they would send a replacement for the item. A month after no item had arrived. Amazon was contacted again and they refused a replacement being that the return window had closed. This was just unacceptable to me being that I tried to go through their product support page for this item but this page was only for pet products and they did not contact me back. Not sure how often Amazon changes manufacturer for their products, especially this one. I would definitely go with a more reputable brand for this item. I would had given it a 4 star review for the first couple of months being that it had a stronger smell than my previous laminating machine. However, ended up starting to have issues with it at about the 6 month mark. Product stopped fully working about a year and a half after it was purchased. My previous product was a Scotch which I had for a little over 10 year with no problems. I decided to purchase this one due to the positive reviews and price (about $23 at the end of 2024). A year and a half later this same product is about $36, just a little less than the Scotch one I had. I will just be purchasing the same Scotch machine that I had even though it's a little bit more expensive ($45).

I bought the 12-in Amazon thermal laminator used thinking I was going to save a little bit of money versus buying 3M. It's longer than I'm used to so it gives me more capability, but there are some things I just like about it. It has a nice flat finish with three mil and five mil switch on it versus a press button which is something I like. It laminates at a nice smooth rate and I haven't seen a blemish on the finished product yet.It's super quiet and it doesn't smell like it's burning or anything. At $25 I feel like I just won the lottery with this thing.

This laminator gave me the results I expected from the similar 3M machine. The 3M 5 mil pouches are great, but I'd frequently get bubbles with the 3M laminator. So I ordered this, and I'm glad I did. It's basically the same machine, but after seven letter-sized, 5 mil laminations, I've got seven perfectly laminated documents and no bubbles—not even on the edges. The 3M manual tells you that it may be necessary to put 5 mill sheets through the machine twice, but I've never had the need with the Amazon Basics version. My machine heats up in almost exactly one minute and is easy to use as any other machine—just feed it in. But your attention can be on aligning the document in the pouch, and not on bubbles.

Works fine. I love that it came with all kinds of different sizes to use for the price it’s a good buy but it does get very hot and loud

Works just as described .... just needed one to one to do a few things so for the price it works great!!

Terrible. Waited 20 minutes and it still didn't warm up. The power and ready lights didn't turn on. Seems the switch is malfunctioning too when you press on it the lights sometimes come on but machine still doesn't heat up. Must be some connection issue. Tried it on the other mode, seemed to come on but intermittent. It is not a reliable machine. If it works, it smells very strong. Most of the time, its just a paperweight. Comes with several sizes of sheets. Too bad the machine doesn't work.
