First of all, this is definitely scented. It is almost overpowering, but it is a pleasant scent. Just so you are aware, they come unscented as well, so if the scent is going to be a problem, you may want to go with that.Second, we had purchased the top of the line brand for both the neck and back and we absolutely love them, but they are very expensive. We decided we wanted to have more on hand, so we did some research and found these. I saw some comments saying that these are just the same as the top of the line brand. They are definitely not; however, for the price, they are very nice. My big concern is just that the material seems very thin and since you have to boil them after each use, I worry that they will burst soon, but so far so good.Third, I saw in some of the comments that they don't even last an hour. That is true at first, but the more you use it and the more you knead it, the longer they work. So the first use it only works a little while, then the second time a little longer, etc. But when you start to feel it is cooling off, knead it a little and it readjusts the salts and the heat lasts a little longer. The next time it will last longer, etc. It also gets softer and more pliable over time.Fourth, a tip I read on one of the comments that I loved and it works really well is this. Yes you have to boil them after each use; however, when you have boiled them they are really good and hot. That is a great time to wrap them in a towel and use them (don't activate them with the button, just use it while it is hot from boiling). I've been doing that and the heat lasts a long time that way as well. Once they cool off, I put them in the fridge and use them later as a cold pack (don't put in the freezer). Then just click and use as a hot pack.These really are incredible, and the only reason I don't give the full five stars is just the quality of the material is really thin. If mine breaks soon, I'll come back and update. Of course, if it lasts for a long time, I'll come back and update as well. :)

The product is adequate, although it doesn't hold the heat as long as a previous product (which I stupidly threw out), which I had to boil first, stayed extremely hot, used moist heat that held the heat longer. I needed to use multiple layers of towels to prevent getting burnt with my original product so it added to my wash load and took up freezer space when not in use. This product is just okay. It doesn't always work when I try and bend the disk, but throwing it in a pot of boiling water will get it hot. My big beef with this heat pack is the intense smell. Still, I would have given it 5 stars if it were odor-free. To me it's not a pleasant lavender smell, it's the smell of chemicals similar to cleaning products--which I intentionally don't use. So I still have to wrap in a towel (that smells afterwards), otherwise my clothes would absorb the odor. Even after multiple uses the smell has not gotten weaker. If something goes wrong with this pack, I would look at other options before buying again.

This thing was used maybe 2-3 times over the two months of ownership. It simply doesn't work no matter how many times you snap the mechanism, which is hard to do. Not for anyone with arthritis. Get a heating pad you plug in. When it worked it did not last long.

I just used for the first time and upon boiling the heat pack to reuse, foundout that it has leaked. I feelthis is not a good quality product unlike the other reusable heat pack I brought from Taiwan before. The one I bought from Taiwan is still in good shape whereas what I bought here in Amazon is already in my trash can and cannot be used after only one use. Willnever buy again.
