XMS400D 4 Channel Micro Amplifier (Black)

Ok. Just installed it on a Corolla 2009 non-jbl using the stock radio. I didnt want to replace the radio as i am not into loud music, but my speakers were damaged so i had to replace then and wanted to make use of their full potential. The amp does its job very well. I am very impressed. It fits behind the radio perfectly. It is powerful enough to output good sound without blasting, but im sure it can. Well worth the money. Had to play with the wiring but i was able to install with harnesses without cutting any of the original car wires, just the harnesses.

I got this because I didn't want to fill my trunk full of bulky, heavy, space eating gear. All I was after was a little more kick to the sound of my Sony CDX G1200U I purchased a couple years back and this works very well. It doesn't pick up engine noise or get real hot when used for an hour or more. It will let you know if your original recording has trash in it like hiss or pops because they will be more pronounced, but good clean original CDs or MP3 files sound great. The radio sounds like a radio but better. The installation instructions are easy to follow and it comes with all the cords and plugs you need. If you are looking for a system that will rattle your windows and license plate this isn't it, but it is a Sony product so the quality is there.

I used a loopback harness to wire this amp between the radio and speakers on my non-Bose 2020 GMC Canyon. While this amp doesn't put out a crazy amount of power it was more than enough to "wake up" the speakers in my truck and provide a much fuller listening experience. A huge plus is that the lower power requirements for this amp meant I could power it directly off one of the power wires for my radio.

Stay away, sound it is not good, I ended up returning it, by the Alpine one, which is the best and costs a little more but it's worthy.

When connecting an aftermarket amplifier, the OUTPUT wires for speakers should not be connected to the radio. You'll have to cut the radio/headunit speaker wires when connecting the amplifier OUTPUT wires to the speakers. The OUTPUT speaker wires should not be connected to the radio/headunit wires only directly to the speaker wires; it will trigger the protection circuit and turn off speaker transmission. You may combine the connection to the speaker/headunit (REM) power source if available. This micro amplifier allows most radio/headunits' perform at a higher volume without distortion. Most people will just assume it doesn't work as they connected it incorrectly due to the lack of instructions. It is listed in troubleshooting to "use a relay if the system employs too many amplifiers." Your radio/headunit usually has an in-built amplifier, so you must cut the radio/headunit speaker wires or purchase a relay which will ultimately make you cut the same wires.

Super compact have push great sound. Installed in my gen3 Tacoma right behind my aftermarket stereo. I’m using front aftermarket speakers and stock rears and I get decent base.

This amp works great, I hook it to the old cigarette lighter circuit that is 15amps so no need for extra wiring, clean and powerful sound, easy to install.

Very small and powerful. Fit my needs perfectly in Jeep TJ where passengers airbag used to be.

Installation cost was a sheer waste as whenever we connect this amplifier and switch on the system the audio comes smooth for 2 minutes and then fails.....
