I love this item the battery is great the magnetic pull it have is superb I used it a few times especially for recess light was more than I expected had pointer and everything was so on point I recommend this it's a real value for money and time saver

I was already heavily invested in 20v dewalt platform but this is an item I waited a long time to buy and glad I have it. I'm not a dewalt fanboy, meaning I'm not biased by their name. 3x 360 green lasers have a lot of features it's hard to compare with a $30 1x360. As much as this item costs I would still suggest getting a heavy duty tripod and there are a few companies that make an adjustment Adapter plate you can fine tune and sneak up on putting something exactly where it needs to be. Seems really rugged but I would suggest leaving the pendulum locked when moving it around to prevent internal damage. Can be used outdoors in some of the ways you might use a rotary laser but I'd suggest grade rods and laser detector if you want to pull double duty. I almost got the 12v version a few times but saw the 20v was coming to market and glad I waited. If you kinda feel this product is $200 more than it should be I have those same reservations at 30,000ft but there are just so many ways to use one of these everyone needs one.... you can cast a line down the center of the ceiling in the hallway and measure from center of line to wall on both sides in several points then transfer them to a piece of wood or drywall and have a perfect fit for these NOT square/plumb/true houses or just set height of outlets, control start stop points for tile.... there is literally hundreds of things I used to do without a laser that now I hope to never go back. Time is money and this item definitely saves time and yields a better finished product for those with an eye for details.

Works pretty well. I've used it to run floor tile. Works better than a chalk line and won't disappear under thin set. It's a bit pricey but I do a lot of remodel work. It'll also be ideal for drop ceilings or wafer light placement. It comes with a small battery, but lasts a long time.

It’s a bit of money but worth it. Can see the green better than the red laser. Also you got a centered cross laser from floor to ceiling.

I had to transfer inside wall dimensions to outside wall dimensions using only a rough reference point (a window edge), to install a (level) ledger board with specific screw hole locations. I don't know how I lived without a laser. What would have been hours of measuring and re-measuring, transferring distances, and ultimately praying everything was aligned at the right spots, turned into a quick and precise solution. Using the laser to align for initial measurement, measure distances to the references spot (both vertical and horizontal) transfer those to the outside removed the prayer factor. Of course, I still wondered until the lag bolts aligned perfectly with their holes, and the ledger board was ** perfectly ** level. I imagine that many lasers might have helped...the features I particularly like about this one are its fine tune adjustment knob, the simplicity of its controls and being able to turn on/off different planes (lines) independently, its manegic backing and optional mount, and that it works with my 20v max batteries.
