Q: Are the spacers 1/4 inch wide?

They are wedge shaped. The widest part is 1/4 in while the narrow end is 1/8 in. They also have interlocking ridges which allows you to put them together to for spaces more than 1/4 in. The manufacturer of my flooring required a 3/8 in space which was easily achieved by using two spacers locked together.

Q: How do I use the spacers if I need 3/8”? The spacers are nowhere near that size

They are tapered, just put two together and adjust to any width.

Q: Is this kit good for vinyl plank flooring?

Sort of.. If you have a thick vinyl plank, the hammer 🔨 will wear out fast. The tapping block is useless, it’s basically thin plastic box. I could go on but you get the picture. It’s really for a small project.

Q: Does the mallet heavy enough for my flooring installation?

Yes,it is 40 diameter of the mallet head and weight is about 1.2 lb.
