Great product...!
We ordered this product to enable us to keep dogs from roaming freely as we have adapted our home to more open living without doors on some rooms and to stop a new dog from going upstairs. The effectiveness, ease of install and use has been great. The fact that you dont have a metal bar to step over like other child / pet gates is a massive plus. Its not been installed too long, so dont know how long it will continue to retract the way it does, but so far, so good and suitably value for money and would recommend.

Works well, but puppy could get underneath
It did work well, but our Cavalier puppy soon learnt to get underneath it, despite being fully tight. It was installed correctly, but the material has a very small gap at the bottom as the roller sits off the ground due to the bottom fixing. We also felt it was a bit bulky on the wall.In summary, yes it did work unless puppy was determined to get through. After decorating, we decided not to use it, but do have to keep an eye on what puppy is doing while we eat in another room.

Perfect temporary separation gate
After initially not reading the instructions properly and placing the attachments in the wrong place (oops) it was relatively easy to set up, but did require a drill for us. If screws only going into wood you may get away with a screwdriver. We use it to separate the dogs when they eat/have treats and when we go out to stop the dogs chasing the cats. Our dogs are both under 10kg, I can imagine if dogs were a lot bigger and not respectful of it you could have problems.Folds away discretely and takes up hardly any room at all.

DO NOT BUY FOR CHILDREN!!
My two year old toddler has just fallen down this entire flight of stairs due to this terrible and dangerous design, you should only market this for dogs and not babys! I’m heart broken my child has endured this and now on our way to A&E

Excellent for dogs
This is a great way to close off an area for your dog. We have an open plan kitchen which leads to the dining area and we try to keep our dog in the kitchen during times when we're not able to keep an eye on him as we don't want him chewing things up in the dining area. This retractable gate is perfect for this as it's so easy to open a close, and it's much nicer to look at than the metal bars of a traditional stair gate. The fact that it retracts when not being used means it's not even really noticeable. The added bonus is it comes with an extra pair of fixings so you can screw the fixings in 2 different rooms and move the gate from one to the other easily if you don't require the gate to be used in both rooms at the same time (works great for us as we can either keep the dog in the kitchen or upstairs so he can't run up and down unsupervised). Would highly recommend this for anyone else that has dogs and need to find a way to keep them secured in a particular room/area!

Bought to let cat in but keep dog out...didn't work
LOL well, it is pretty good, so I can't fault the intent of it. It's very tall and looks good if put all the way to the floor. It's very plasticky feeling at the top with the lock and screws are just not good. I'd find your own screws if you can, but they need to be recessed, otherwise the full slide will not lock into place. Other than the screws, it's great that it comes with a guide to aid with drilling the holes. I would definitely hold on to the top when you pull the screen over. I don't know, it just feels loose, but otherwise, the quality is quite good. Now, it doesn't really work well with a collie that's realised it can use is muzzle to open just about anything, and barrel through any obstacle. I put it a bit high to let the cat through but he got through it (my fault entirely, but worth a try). So, definitely get it low to the ground. I'd say it should work fine with children, though, in the end, maybe the more rigid ones? Anyway, worth a go with this one.
