1) it depends on the amount of exposure to wind and rain; but - 2 this device is not worth buying; none of the ‘instruments’ work accurately, particularly the barometric pressure which, as a pilot, I would check against our airport pressure report. I threw it in the garbage. Don’t expect any mechanical device from China to be functional, accurate, durable or operate as promised. American Companies don’t apply QC standards.

Ours works fine with no adjustments. If yours doesn’t work, it may be defective.
