Master Lock575DPF Padlock, 1-1/2-inch Wide, Solid Brass

I've probably purchased about 20-30 of these locks for reason of their durability and their size. Some features:--the key stays in the lock while it is unlocked--the shackle part is hardened--the shackle part is just the right size for anything that needs locking--it's not too big as to be a tight fit.I have so many of these locks because it is the only lock that I found satisfactory to use on my Pelican cases. All other locks where too big and damaged the metal parts by being too tight and not being able to freely hang down, or too small and left me feeling my items were not secured.Like I said, I use these on my Pelican cases, and the TSA has gloriously popped my locks twice to see what's inside (I love those guys). I recently had to pop two of my locks because I lost the keys. Now I have a HUGE set of bolt cutters, and I mean huge (I thinkI have these: (Ridgid 14233 S36 Bolt Cutter)! I thought it was going to be an easy chore, but it was hard. I thought the steel would easily snap. Not so. Now that impressed me...and made me wonder about how good were my $130 bolt cutters.

This is a high quality well made lock. The lock features a five pin tumbler with security pins and a solid brass body. The lock cannot be bypassed or shimmed and is difficult to pick.The Master No. 575DPF is an industrial level lock which is much better than the average Master lock offerings.Like all locks of this design it is able to be picked, however the bitting on my particular lock made it difficult to pick.This is an above average lock, reasonably priced which I would recommend.

I had a Low-High-Low key bidding on my lock, thought it was gonna be hard to single pin pick since its a dead-core and its rated as an Orange belt with security pins. It wasn't. I've had more trouble single pin picking an Abus 64/40.. This lock should be demoted to Yellow Belt.

I play around with picking locks and the 575 I received was extremely hard to pick due to the bitting and other features of my particular lock that I will not go into. It is safe to say that at least in my lock the security is that of a much, much higher level lock. Highly recommended lock (which I rarely due for a Master Lock product).

this lock takes about 25 seconds to rake open. if your looking for a pick proof lock this isn't it.

Best moderately priced lock you can buy. Both sides of the shackle are locked in place so even sawing through it will not free the lock. You would need to saw through it in two places to do that.

Right size weight and more secure than combination locks. More pins than usual and ball bearings for anti-shim. Just put the key on an o ring and attach somewhere so you don’t lose it and you are good to go. For swim I attach to watch strap. Enjoy!
