Correct fan but 1st one was defective [UPDATE]
Received the fan for my ASUS ROG Strix III Hero G731GV. Was identical to original in size, voltage and amperage but when installed it made a very faint clicking noise and it would not reach full RPM causing overheating. Requested a exchange hoping it's just a defective fan. Will update. [UPDATE]: Replacement fan came in quickly, was the same as the first one however this one worked perfectly. Best guess was the first was simply defective.

Does NOT work for a ASUS STRIX G712LW-ES74
Do not confuse with the FMMV or FMMU fans, which have the same form factor but are 12 V fans. This fan is a 5V fan. On the plus side, this did not seem to damage my system, but the system just constantly rebooted and would not finish POST until the power cable to this fan was removed. (5 stars because it's not the fan's fault I bought the wrong one)
