This book has given me a direction and a means. To let myself and live myself wholeheartedly for all that I am. Giving myself permission to express myself and to give myself space to heal.

Warning: You will not come out the same way you go in
Okay, so a word of warning for anyone looking to read this book (this is from my perspective), but do not read this book unless you are ready to face some major demons internally and do some drastic shifting in your way of viewing life. I began a small women's group. It was only supposed to be 10 of us, but it grew to be 30 beautiful women...all on their own journey. My hope was that we would all read a chapter a week, discuss and move on. So after the 10 chapter were completed, in my mind, we were going to be glowing enlightened Goddesses, ready to kick ass! What I did not bank on, was the amount of internal growth that would occur. I am only on chapter 6 and I've uncovered and revived some things deep within me that need releasing. Emotional traumas and fears, you name it. All the while shifting my mindset and resetting and researching, unlearning (unearthing) and grounding myself in MY truth (which I was prompted to define). I am a firm believer in "so without, as within" so when you make these internal changes, your world WILL be affect by it, whether you like it or not. If you follow this book with an open heart and mind, you will see your life change. Your world will match what you now believe and it will adjust accordingly. Hang on tight! Its going to be a ride. I am excited (and uncomfortable) all at once because I know what's on the other side of all of this (for me and my women friends that are undergoing the same experience). I would recommend this book to every woman I know!

Good for Men Too
There are good reasons to be skeptical of this review, and good reasons to pay close heed to it. I was for many years a student of Heather Ash Amara and consider her a dear friend. Also, I am a man. On the other hand I am author of eight published books and a retired publishing professional who has edited more than 200, many in this genre. I truthfully do not believe that there is anyone more familiar with the literature of the modern Toltecs or modern shamanism than I. This book is one of the very best in the genre and stacks up well with the best of don Miguel Ruiz and his sons, Castaneda, Sandra Ingerman, Michael Harner, anybody you could name. The material is fresh and original and the writing is flawless. As for the man thing, there is nothing in this book that most men could not profit from, though I would not recommend you start calling yourself a "warrior god". The guys down at the Harley dealership might not understand. If you caught a whiff of snarkiness in that last, well, not really. Guys in our society are encouraged to play it big, and woe betide the sensitive lad who doesn't, which is a subject for a whole other book. But women are taught to play small, and, for those uncomfortable with this notion this book offers a fresh and effective way out of that.In defense of the men I would say that I don't think, at least in this generation, that we are the ones who caused women to play small. Back in the days before Buffy, as an editor, I wanted to do a series about a tough woman heroine and it was the women of publishing who squelched, on the theory that neither women nor men would like it. Ask Joss Whedon about that. But never mind; we're in a different era and a different culture. Strong confident men like strong confident women. I can only encourage you to read this book, six times would be best, do the practices, and watch your life bloom.

Enlightening
“What I've found in being more conscious in communication is the importance of bringing in humor, clarity, and both ears to all conversations.”

The path to a new old friend
I came across and started reading this book, unknowingly, at the start of what has been a very turbulent time. I was seeking something— control over my emotions, freedom from my over talkative judgemental mind, love, acceptance, etc…but a lot of what I saw seemed to come in that artificial, excessive, loud, and completely not what I wanted. This book felt very natural to read, like I was having a conversation with a close friend that I had known for many years. I easily understood what I was reading, how the lessons help clear away the accumulated debris, and why it is necessary to do so. The concepts are easily incorporated into my everyday life bringing new life, love, passion, change, growth, and freedom. I’m not saying it’s easy to let go of all the “stuff” weighing me down, but applying these concepts daily, little by little, day by day, it gets better and better. This book helped me so much!

Inspired
This book pure inspiration. Read it. Then read it again & start practicing lesson 1. Then read it again & add lesson 2. Keep going. If you stop for a month, that's ok. Just keep remembering what you've learned. Let her words inspire you until your words can inspire you.
