Good price and glad to get on amazon. Okay quality. Last ones only lasted 2 seasons in my fish boxes. I do use them a lot.

I was replacing an existing pump, same model to make replacement simple, as I had 3 years of good luck with previous pump. I had removed old pump last week waiting for new one, opened box to see the ground lead had been cut. I did add a butt splice to it. I fish salt water, so adding anything in line is a no no in my book. Yes I could have sent it back, and waited for a new one. I did not have time for that, had to make it work. The pump itself, previous one anyway, works great and moves a lot of waste from fish boxes. If wire was not cut, would have been 5 stars.

Need a tricuspid valve not included need it

I installed this pump as a replacement for the blackwater/sewage macerator on my boat. The previous style with the metal blades and rubber impeller were failing every six months. So far so good but it's looking like I shouldn't have any problems in the near future. Whale doesn't recommend it's usage as a toilet pump, but it empties my tank faster than the previous style pump.

Exellent bit of kit, I use this for transferring diesel from 25L drums into my car and van. Much easier than syphoning it in. I'm going to connect an inline switch to turn it off rather than unplugging from 12v power adapter.

With warnings about a hosepipe ban driven by drought conditions in south and east UK I went ahead and purchased this 12 volt pump kit in plenty of time. I was already familiar with the manufacturer WHALE as they are well known within the touring caravan fraternity.The product arrived quickly with no problem, the packaging was fine.So how simple is this? 1- Fill Bucket with water 2 - Lower pump into water 3 - plug cable into 12 volt socket outlet in vehicle - 4 - Open Hose nozzle 5 - water comes outThe water flow rate is excellent and so you need a fairly large bucket to rinse your car (or in my case several buckets to rinse a caravan) I would suggest at least two buckets be filled ready for use.I have not used the pump with collected rain water as I am wary about filtering out foreign bodies in the water. There is no filter attached to the pump.If you are washing a car then keep in mind where your electrical supply cable comes out of the car, water will go in so be prudent where you point the nozzle.I am anticipating my wife using this kit to water the garden because the reach of the water jet is around 12 feet. Of course now that we have a hose pipe ban it has started to rain so the garden is doing just fine! So it is back to plan A and using the kit for car and caravan rinse.I have not tried using the attached 'crocodile' clips directly onto a battery but cannot see any problem there.After rinsing the vehicle, hang up the hose so that it can drain and when finished pack away.Unfortunately there is no store bag but as this is a 'wet' device, a plastic carrier bag (with hole in bottom for drainage) works just fine.This product is also available from caravan dealers who sell accessories however the price via Amazon could not be bettered.Great piece of kit

This is a great concept for a product, and really useful. Good quality hose and fittings.The pump is powerful, I'm using it as an outdoor shower and get a great 'monsoon' type shower flow with about 1.5m vertical height. I've also used it to clean the car, to great effect. It's pretty much as powerful as ground level mains.I give it 4 stars because of the pump unit, which has a 'we designed this in the 1980's and haven't bothered improving it since' feel to it.The pump is highly susceptible to air locking, so if you get any bubbles in it it will stop working and sound like it is about to explode (it won't, but it sounds terrible). When you have just poured water in a container from the tap, bubbles from the air dissolved in tap water build up on the pump and get sucked into the inlet. This means every 5 minutes or so the pump stops working and you need to shut off the power to clear the air out of the system.. very annoying.The pump is also not very tolerant to closing the nozzle off, so you can't control the system effectively from the nozzle when you want to temporarily stop the flow. Instead you have to unplug the whole unit, which is not ideal when your hands are wet, both because of the electricity factor, and because the plug is perfectly smooth and round and impossible to grip.The sealing of the pump cap (where the power cable goes in) is not very good, so some water leaks through the unit rather than going out the outlet, reducing effective performance.It would be nice to have a more 'intelligent' pump unit which clears air and stops when pressure builds too much (i.e. the nozzle is closed), or a water poof switch on the power line near the operator.I sent one unit back, assuming the deficiencies in the pump unit were a fault (they weren't, the second unit behaved the same). The seller was outstanding in providing a replacement quickly and with little trouble, and were very helpful and straightforward on the phone. I highly recommend them.In summary, this product could be great, but needs a little more work to iron out some of the usability issues. As it is, it does what it needs to do and I'd buy another one if I had use for it. Definitely room for improvement though.
