Saved Us
Installed this valve in May ‘23. Z wave control via SmartThings hub and Aeotec sensor. During the summer, while in Europe our water heater failed. Within seconds the valve closed. It saved us literally thousands of dollars and major headaches. Water would have been running into the basement for two weeks if we didn’t have the valve. Worked perfectly. Installed easily and paired with hub instantaneously.

Nice build quality. Good control.
Its only been a couple of days, but so far I really like the quality of the valve/controller and the ease of installation. I used two 3/4" MNPT to 3/4" Copper Shark Bite fittings to install it, and the install was a breeze. If you go this route, I'd highly recommend the shark bite deburring tool (which also doubles as a measuring tool to ensure your connectors are securely positioned), and making sure to clean the copper pipe very well prior to install with something NON ABRASIVE (Shark bite fittings don't like pitted or scratched surfaces, so stay away from sandpaper type cleaners). Even though my pipes were more brown than copper, a little scrubbing with barkeepers friend soft scrub cleaner and a scotchbrite pad, worked wonderfully. Another thing, for some reason the instructions tell you to remove 12" of pipe to install this device. Depending on your install, this measurement is likely highly inaccurate. For my sharkbite fittings, I only needed to remove about 4" of pipe to drop this in place. I have this paired with a VeraPlus home automation controller - and the only annoyance so far is that, when setting up as a generic Z-Wave device, it pairs and shows in the control panel as a light bulb. Fortunately it sets the subcategory correctly so that an "ALL ON" or "ALL OFF" command to your lights doesn't also turn off your water - but the icon being a light bulb is a bit annoying nonetheless. Also, I saw other reviews mentioning leaking - use GOOD quality PTFE tape (I used Oatey FASTape, the thick grey stuff). I used five turns of this as per the manufacturers recommendations, and then used two crescent wrenches to snug the connectors firmly into place without over tightening (it is a NPT thread, so it's tapered, and the connections will NOT completely seat, but they wll snug up nicely). Overall, impressed so far - and hoping that the only acutation I will ever need is of the manual variety, rather than from one of my leak sensors.

US Made Solid Stainless Steel Z-Wave Valve at Incredible Price
This water valve is half the price of most Z-Wave water valves that actually have a valve. There are many options for having Z-Wave turn an existing valve open and closed but they seem terribly unpredictable and cheap. This valve is a very high grade stainless steel valve that appears that it will last a lifetime. It is very simple to set up and being Z-Wave plus it has great range to communicate with other Z-Wave devices. A simple press of the on/off button opens and closes the valve or you can obviously control it via Z-Wave. It works flawlessly with SmartThings. I actually kept an existing valve in place also since this valve can only be open and closed electronically. I also had e-mailed the company a few questions prior to purchase and received extremely quick replies. Very happy customer.

Valve threading results in leakage
I've got this early March 2019, but couldn't install right away. Got a professional plumber come in and install it for me first thing in June 2019 (installation in the water main costs a LOT). One side of the valve has imperfect threading, so the plumber had a hell of a job trying to properly screw in the fitting that gets pressure fitted in the PVC piping. After a lot of effort, using teflon tape and doing it all to (and above) local code, the fitting still leaks. It's been 24hr since and there has been some leaking - it's minor at the moment, but a simple fact that there is leaking is a huge concern. After spending so much money on this valve and the installation I'm out of about $500. At this time Amazon tells me I'm past return and support time windows on this product, so I'm pretty much in a very unpleasant situation. Btw, this same exact setup is sold by HomeSeer, but they brand this same mechanism as their own and do not respond to questions whether these are exactly same mechanism. So, I have my doubts that this is made in the US. Most likely - China, where they stamp different "brand name" on it and sell it for high price.

Now I know why they have a 10 year warranty
purchased the 3/4 inch version about one year ago. Mounted the controller on the wall and installed valve on pvc pipes. Have city water. The valve lost signal to the controller one or two times through out its life, then the third time the valve would not open or respond to manually pushing the open button on controller. Water was shut off and valve could not be opened with the push button on the controller, so followed the directions on the website how to manually open the valve with the pop up manual override on the valve itself. Popped up the valve but it would not engage the valve mechanism, it seemed stripped therefore could not open the valve manually. Had to cutout the valve in order to get water to my home. Valve is sitting on the floor in a box waiting for an RMA number directly from the manufacturer. Called and spoke to "Wayne" who was very nice and assured me that a new valve was on its way soon and when i did receive it just place the old valve in the box and send it back. This conversation was beginning of October 2018, its now almost 2019 and still no replacement valve was sent to me. Sent numerous emails, and called 3 times no response. The valve worked great when it worked, but now sits lonely in a box waiting to be returned. I think that's why they have a 10 year warranty because it must take 10 years to get a new valve for replacement when the old one fails. Frustrated.

Easy setup to Vera controller and works with Alexa through Vera Perfectly. VERY VERY VERY expensive for a simple control valve. Only tested function. Have it yet installed on line.
