Transformative Patina
The Testors MM3062-70 Modern Masters Metal Effects Oxidizing Finish Kit-Green Patina offers an authentic green patina finish that I really love. As a DIY enthusiast, I recently experimented with this kit on our clawfoot tub chrome feet and found it to be a remarkably effective and user-friendly product. One of the standout features of this kit is it includes all the necessary components, from primer and oxidizing solution to protective topcoat, making the application process seamless and hassle-free. The clear, step-by-step instructions provided ensured that even beginners could achieve professional-looking results.Upon application of the oxidizing solution, the metal surface undergoes a gradual metamorphosis, developing rich hues of green reminiscent of aged copper or bronze.Furthermore, once sealed with the protective topcoat, the company boasts the patina is safeguarded against weathering and abrasion. While the project I used this patina for will be inside -it will be exposed to moisture occasionally and I wanted a product that would hold up to this environment.

Love this!
This is a great product. I love the results. 3 simple steps to a real patina finish!A little pricey, but the smaller 2 oz size such as these allows me to try it. And it goes a long way!I've done a few smaller projects and still have plenty to play with!

Interesting product
Followed directions but finish seemed to depend on underlying metal. Has been weather resistant so far...

Expensive but Works
For the amount of stuff you get, this is crazy expensive. But the little bit you get does work well and looks good.

Not easiest to work with
I used this on metal frog sculptures that were badly weathered outside. The green patina was nice. However, since the frogs had various dimensions (unlike a flat surface vase for instance) it was difficult to get the surface covered equally. The directions did not mention that the items will not patina if the base coat is not wet. The patina is a spray-it also ran making streaks. Not the easiest to work with for a professional result.

Love love love
Transformed a rusted garage sale find bird bath. Easy to follow instructions and only took 2-3 hours including drying time. I did play around with the materials a bit to get desired effect. Heavier on the spray in some areas, and final touch up brushing copper paint lightly over raised edges with rough brush to to add shine and depth.Product was enough to refinish a smaller bird bath too, and still have a bit left over. Highly recommend for an easy, fun project you can do in a single afternoon and literally transform an object.

It’s a process but not complicated
I do my fair share of reviving furniture with paint and giving pieces new life but I’ve never used a patina kit like this. The primer and paint get brushed on. Brush evenly. I fudged a little on the wait times in between coats because I’m impatient. The best advice I can give is this: the last step where you spray the activator, where you spray the most is where it will activate the verdigris. I had to dry brus a little out to blend it.My photos are of each step beginning to end! It was an easy process that took several hours with wait time. I would use this kit again!
