Very nice lightsaber, with a few flaws
This is a huge step up from most toy lightsabers, however there are a few issues that stop this from being the perfect lightsaber replica. The unit itself is very well made. The base is all aluminum and the plastic of the blade is solid. When the lightsaber is turned on, it is quite loud and the colors on the blade are vibrant and bright. Changing the colors is easy after reading the instructions. After quite a bit of aggressive play the sword is showing no signs of wear. The included charging cable makes it easy to keep charged and you don't have to worry about batteries. The main issues with the sword come down to two things. The first is that the blade, instead of being a one-piece design has a separate plug in the end where it tapers to a point. The plug is a different thickness and interrupts the clean lines of the blade, which throws off the overall look of the lightsaber because the tip is noticeably different. The second issue is with the sound. When you move the blade, the different sound clips play, however it seems like one sound clip needs to end before the next one is triggered, which means when you move the sword quickly the timing of the sounds doesn't match up with the movement. Overall we like this lightsaber quite a bit, however given the price point, would have liked to see it be a more perfect replica.

HE LOVES IT
A lightsaber in the hands of a grown man... I'll defer to him for the purposes of this review. Here are his comments (with my commentary in parentheses):PROS:- The handle's got a nice heft to it.- It makes interesting sounds if you strike a surface as opposed to if you're just waving it around. (As if it isn't all just “waving it around!” lol)- It's a fun little thing to play with.- It works like it's supposed to. (Does it though? See his cons list.)- You have to look at the manual because it has weird controls. (They aren't that weird. It's just that he's a guy and actually had to look at the manual. lol)CONS:- It's not a real lightsaber. I can think of people I want to slice in half, and I can't.BOTTOM LINE: Fun times for the perpetual Star Wars fan in your life. Because we're all kids at heart.

Great fun lightsaber for kids and playing with!
This isn't meant to be used as a training prop, however it can take a good whacking to! The sounds are good, it reacts very well to movement or strikes and i LOVE that it lights up white as it strikes something! Not flimsy or cheap feeling at all!!

Stunning
Large and not too heavy. Easy to use after but you do need to get familiar with how to use it to be able to change the sound and colors. Does charge when using the correct power outlet.
