The Art of Jewish Cooking: A Cookbook

Easy to follow
None of the soup recipes call for broth, stock or cubes. A lot of the recipes could easily be modified for those on a low sodium diet. The recipes are straight forward, easy to follow. You don't need to search everywhere for the ingredients. I had to go online to find out what the can sizes back then translate to. I also think the type face for the numbers is bad. The 3s look like 8s. Aside from that this is a great recipe book. I memorized the crescent rolls recipe from when I was young and since getting the book I've made three more dishes from it. This book is a real gem.

A classic gem
Forty years ago I learned the art of Jewish cooking in three places. One was at the energetic elbow of my great granny, one was 'Love and Knishes', which you can also get from Amazon but will need to take out a small loan to purchase ... the third was 'The Art of Jewish Cooking' by Jennie Grossinger, a perfect foil for Sara Kasdan's comic turn. Easy to follow, less self-conscious, the classics are there. And so affordable! Try the blintzes.

My Go-To for Jewish recipes
I've gone through a couple of copies myself and this copy is for my daughter who keeps asking for my recipes 😉But seriously, for over 40 years I've been using challah, chicken soup and pot roast recipes from this book.
