⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Texture for Basing Miniatures – A Hobby Essential!
Vallejo Rough Grey Pumice has become one of my go-to products for creating realistic terrain and textured bases for my miniatures. It’s easy to use, dries rock-hard, and adds a great level of detail to any base or diorama. Why I love it:Amazing Texture: The rough, gritty texture is perfect for simulating rocky ground, concrete, rubble, or harsh terrain. It adds depth and realism to bases without needing extra materials.Easy to Apply: Goes on smooth with a brush, spatula, or even a sculpting tool. It spreads easily and holds shape well—great for custom terrain builds or battle-damaged effects.Paint-Friendly: Once dry, it takes paint beautifully. No flaking, no weird absorption—it holds color just like a primed surface.Quick Drying & Solid Finish: Dries relatively fast depending on the thickness, and once it sets, it’s very durable. No cracking or crumbling!Generous Amount: The 200ml tub lasts a long time, even with heavy use. A little goes a long way.Whether you’re a wargamer, modeler, or hobby artist, this is a fantastic tool for upping your basing game. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to add professional texture to their miniatures or dioramas.

Versatile
I’m new to model making/miniatures, so I had originally bought the Vallejo mud and puddles pigment set. The two “muds” included in that set are pretty darkly colored, so I went looking for a strong shade that I could use for ruins. I had expected the bottle to be the same size, but it’s actually much bigger (obviously didn’t pay attention to the ounces), so I think for the money this will go a long way for me. I also tested it with a small amount of acrylic paint to see if I could make my own mud shades and it worked perfectly well. I even tested brushing some white over top to see if I could get a decent snow texture, and although it’s hard to see in the picture I think that worked well too. This is a one-stop-shop for all your textured ground effects as far as I’m concerned.

Not Perfect but Good
End dried result can look a bit sparkly or glittery, and not quite the right texture(not as sandy and a bit too smooth for what I would like), otherwise really good.

A great value
The Vallejo sandy paste dries matte. It sticks well. It takes paint well. The grain is finer than what you're likely to get if you were to make your own texture paint which means the texture is actually in scale for miniatures. You also get a ton for your money. The value is hard to beat.

Value and quality
You really can't beat the value you get with Vallejo's basing materials. There's oodles more than any decent competitor (e.g., GW), and the price is nearly the same. The grey pumice is excellent when used as a basic basing sand or dirt effect. Other options, like "dark earth" are a bit more hefty, but are also excellent size and value. It's all down to personal preference for what type of base you want to create.

Great for basing models
I ordered the rough grey pumice and it serves well for model basing. It looks great with a few pebbles and vallejo black wash! Just the look I was going for.It goes on thick but loses some volume after drying. Also, it glues down any rocks I add on top.

Exactly what I needed.
Exactly what I needed. Works well as a replacement for GW texture paints, but will require coloration to match exactly, and spreads a little less evenly. Mix well.
