At the moment, the statistics functions are disabled by software for simplicity and convenience of working with the thickness gauge.

Will this unit work on powder coated stainless steel? (i.e. 304, 316, 18/8, etc)

Yes. This thickness gauge will be able to measure the thickness of the coating on stainless slalis

Can this item be used to detect lead paint on house surface by any chance?

No only metal backed surfaces. You’ll need a lead paint detection kit

Will this work on painted lead? That is, will it show how thick the paint is if the metal underneath the paint is lead?

I don't think so. There are only calibrations for steel and aluminum.
