Serta Power Chill Mattress Protector

Its almost plastic but its soft kinda like a yoga mat but super thin doesn’t get smells or stains trapped doesn’t rustle and protects my mattress from my baby spilling things. Cooling is okay doesnt stay cool but at least it feels cool when i first lay down.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:this is great very cooling over my new tempurpedic pad. Works great no more sweating at night

I bought this because I was desperately looking for a solution to my body's natural heat generation. Ignoring that aspect of it for now, is this a good mattress protector? Absolutely. It does a fantastic job of keeping moisture from actually getting to the mattress itself, it fits my Purple mattress with ease and doesn't move around very much. Also I don't find it to be loud at all as some users said, I don't intend to discount the experiences of others but I read some reviews of people saying that they couldn't roll around with this protector making loud ripping/tearing noises underneath them, which I think is insane. Even if you sleep directly on it, it is barely loud, it's made of a somewhat plastic-y material that DOES make some ruffling noise but it's hardly noticeable. I really have no idea what those people were talking about, their reviews almost scared me off purchasing this thing but my partner and I did not have that problem at all.Anyway, the reason why I give it four stars is because despite being a fantastic mattress protector, it only does a negligible job of keeping us cool at night. You can feel a bit of cooling if you sleep directly on it, but you're not supposed to sleep directly on these things, first of all because the plastic-y material isn't very comfortable to lay on, and second of all because then it gets dirty much faster which defeats the purpose. So we have a normal fitted sheet on top of this (one that also advertises itself to be good at cooling), and when used like that (the intended way to use a mattress protector), I feel roughly 5-10% cooler than when I use the fitted sheet alone. My cat seems to notice a larger difference though! On hotter nights he usually sleeps on the floor, but ever since we bought this thing he will jump right on the bed as soon as he warms up (which he didn't used to do before). But yeah, it's still a great item, but unfortunately it isn't good at the main thing I bought it for. Still worth purchasing and it isn't completely ineffective, just know what you're getting into in advance and maybe don't buy it if you're specifically getting it for the cooling effect.

I recently bought a memory foam mattress and the first week was sweltering as that material holds in heat. Gave this a shot and I am definately cooler, not sweating as much and am more comfortable. I was skeptical when I recieved it as it wasn't 'cool to the touch'- but honestly I steered away from actual mattresses that had that feature because I didn't really like the feel of it. This is protecting my mattress and has kept me cooler in the summer on my heat- trapping mattress.

This is an excellent mattress protector. I recently purchased a new bed from Mattress Firm and they tried selling me a protector for my Serta that was well over $100. I’m glad I trusted my gut instinct and didn’t purchase it as it was a huge rip off. This protector does just what it says is does. I did read a few reviews that mentioned that their bed didn’t feel any cooler, but I wanted to note that it only really works for mattresses that are made cool. The mattress that I purchased has a special cooling effect, and this protector is made to where you can feel the cooling through the protector. It’s not necessarily a cooling protector that will work on any bed. So I just thought I’d add that in this review so people aren’t misled. Overall 10/10 recommend!

This mattress cover effectively protects my mattress from spills & “accidents”. The size/fit is perfect. It called a cooling mattress cover and it does just that… during warm nights, from the moment I get into bed, I can feel the difference from not having this cover. I’m sleeping more soundly since I’m not tossing and turning seeking out the “cool spot”. It has held up very well in the wash. I plan on getting one for the other bed in my home.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I think this is decently made. The issue I had with this is that if you have a mattress like mine with an extra little layer on top this will barely fit and keeps coming off. If you've got a mattress with an extra top layer I would look for something specifically for that.

Am surprised that when you place your hand on it it feels cool to the touch. I have a split king and laid my hand on each mattress topper and it is cooler. Feels a little plastic to me so I’m glad I’m not sleeping on it but my boyfriend likes it and it keeps him cooler.
