OmniProGear Brakehawk Braking System with Petzl Tandem Speed Zipline Pulley

I put in a 205 foot zip line this summer and wanted it to be over-engineered for safety. I got the coil spring brake that the trolley slams into if the rider doesn't actuate the hand brake. There were some very pricey brake solutions that the commercial operators use, and I didn't want to spend over $1,000 on a brake. This Brakehawk system is great. Had an 8 year old go down the line and she could easily brake whenever she wanted and it just worked flawlessly all summer and I saw very little wear on the rubber pad. My zip line is at an 11% slope and is a bit fast. This can stop a full-sized adult carrying a kid, either quickly or just gently slow down. Highly recommend.

An overall great product. However, I do feel the price is a little inflated for this type of product.

I didn't buy this from the Amazons, but it's worth a review anyway.I bought two of them for a Robertson trolley. My zipline is 400' and drops really quickly downhill so you need a good brake. These things work really well, the rubber is hardly worn after 30 runs.Adults use them, and the kids used them all day, 10 years old. So easy to use.
