Fiskars 9 Inch Dressmaker Shears

Wife was happy to see these arrive. Bigger than most at 9" yet light enough they are not hard on her arthritic hands. Updated review: Wife here- These cut really nicely and it's easy to cut perfectly straight through material. Nice and sharp and I've had no issues with these.whatsoever. Have had these about a year and they get used regularly. Not a glitch yet.

These Fiskars scissors are the ones from Finland (stamped on the blade). They are SHARP & work great! SO far I have only used them to cut flannel, but I can say they cut through 3 layers of good quality flannel like butter.. VERY nice & NO fatigue! i WOULD purchase them again!

Very sharp blades. I wish the 9 inch blades came in the ergonomic version.

I have many of these which I use for office and garden work. They are solid, well-made, and cut very smoothly. Amazon's price is competitive with big box stores. Jan 2019 UPDATE: bought another pair. same high quality as always. At least in early 2019, they are shipping the Finland-made ones if you buy from this page direct from Amazon, not the Chinese ones. The Chinese ones are pretty good too though.

I'm not brand loyal. However, if a brand consistently shows excellence, I'll lean more toward it. Fiskars has been a brand of scissor that I've seen and used since childhood, and they've consistently shown excellent quality, so I went ahead and looked them up by name. I was not disappointed! These are great shears and you can tell they will last a long time. Absolutely fabulous addition to my sewing box. I will be buying my future blades from fiskars!

I bought these, in part, because the photo at Amazon clearly shows one of the blades to be etched with "Fiskars Stainless Finland". Yet when I received them, it simply says "Fiskars". A check of the packaging shows that the actual country of manufacture is China. While the quality of these Chinese-made scissors may be just as good as anything that ever came out of Finland, that's not the point. If I'd wanted Chinese-made scissors, I could have selected another brand that was less expensive. I returned them.

These are such great quality! Sharp and easy to cut fabric. My only complaint would be how large they are. They don’t fit in my sewing box.

Great scissors for the price. Cut every piece of material I have used them on. Was very impressed the way the cut heavy weight denim.
