VTech KidiZoom Camera Pix, Pink (Frustration Free Packaging)

This starter camera exceeded all my expectations. I gave it to my 4yr old granddaughter and she was thrilled by it. Very attractive colours, quirky design in robust soft feel plastic that is easy to hold and use. It is fun! The operation seemed to be quite intuitive to her and she was taking great creative images straight away. It really is point and shoot and, just like the Lomo cameras, produces distinctive idiosyncratic images. It seems to be child proof; it can be dropped without damage and the little lens is well protected from sticky fingers etc. The battery life is excellent, 600+ images and videos so far on the first set. (There is a little niggle with the battery covers, they popped off when dropped but were easy to refit.)It is a very basic no frills camera with small image and video files but, when uploaded to a computer via the microSD card, proved to be much better than expected. They were easy to incorporate into a photobook and to print.Suffice to say I have ordered another for myself so that I can have fun too.

Have had this camera for almost a year now and it's about the only thing my toddler has tossed, kicked, dropped and everything else you can imagine but actually still works while in one piece. I was nervous about purchasing something this pricey for a toddler at first and decided what the heck and went ahead and made the purchase. Glad I did. My daughter loves taking pictures and I didn't wanting her stealing my phone to do so anymore making this the perfect gift last year. The only complaint I have although the battery life is pretty darn good for being used almost 24/7 I wish it came with a set of rechargeable batteries. Other than that this camera is tough and would make an amazing gift for even the most destructive little ones. Even comes with a few really cute games they can play on it.

My daughter loves this camera! We bought it for her birthday. She just turned 4 and she loves to take pictures so I thought it would be a perfect gift. She does get frustrated when it runs out of space but we just go in and delete all the pictures of just carpet or feet lol. Then she has room again. It doesn’t take the clearest pictures but it seems heavy duty so if it is dropped it seems unlikely it would break. It is perfect for her to have as a first camera. We will see if this turns into a life long passion for her. We have not tried to download pictures yet but if we have any problems with the camera I will update my review. I am very happy that we bought it!

My daughter loves this camera and still uses it. I'm very glad it's built rugged because it's definitely had a few drops and just keeps working. For a 4 year old it's still a bit confusing but after showing her how to use it, she's having fun with it. It could be easier to find photos and video than it is compared to most cameras. My daughter hasn't played any of the games so far.She has taken it outside and taken various pictures. I do recommend to parents to review the photos from time to time, children are children and take either really bad pictures or may have not realized what they took a picture of (hint).I'll capture a few photos from it and attach to review soon.The LCD on the camera is less than desirable.I debated on 3 vs 4 stars. She enjoys it so much I left 4 stars, but with the user interface being a little odd to use and the LCD quality being weak I couldn't give 5 stars and debated on dropping to 3 stars because of the issues.Make sure to put the strap on the camera! It helps for sure.

I am impressed with this item. My 4 year old received it for Christmas and has carried it around taking thousands of pictures since. We are over a month out and the battery is still going strong with several hours of use. Between her and her sibling, it has suffered some drops and is proving to be very durable. The game options on there spark her interest and are very user friendly. The only thing I’m not sure about is picture quality as I have not yet downloaded any pictures. However, they are very clear on the display screen on the back of the camera.Anywhere we go with the camera, it draws lots of attention from other kids. This is one you can’t go wrong with!

I bought this for my niece who will be 5 in February after she spent all of Thanksgiving taking pictures with her pretend camera. It was very easy to install the batteries which was the only thing I needed to do in order to take pictures. The camera itself has enough memory for about 230 pictures. She ran through that in less than 3 hours. You can add a memory card, which we did. By the end of the day, she had taken over 600 pictures. The quality seems fine for a child's camera. It's hard to tell if any blurriness was the fault of the camera or the young operator. Overall, this aunt won Christmas with this gift!

My 2-yo daughter got this for Christmas and LOVES it! She takes pictures of EVERYTHING. They’re not the greatest quality, but a lot of that is because she doesn’t hold the camera as still as she should. There is a bit of a delay between pushing the button and when it actually takes the picture. Closing this gap and adding an image stabilizer would help with the quality of the pictures a kid would take. These features are likely to raise the price a bit, though. Overall, this is a cute little camera. My 2-yo has figured out how to navigate the features just fine and we enjoy seeing the world from her perspective.

****update 2020****Against all odds this little thing is STILL going strong. I went for a social distance visit today and was shocked to see her using her camera I bought her a couple years ago!:)******original review (2018) below****I bought this for my 3 year old niece for Christmas and she LOVED it so much we had to keep reminding her she had more gifts to open lol! She took 250 pictures in just a few hours! The quality isn’t great but it’s perfect for her - besides, 90% if the photos are whatever she clicks so it’s no big deal! There are also games on the camera! A great purchaseUPDATE: 5 months later and still going strong - despite MANY hard drops to the floor lol.
