We have a heavy fire door from our garage into the basement in our house, the floor had been carpeted until recently but is now laminated. I wasn’t sure if this door stop would be strong enough to keep the door open but it holds a treat! My husband fitted it easily, it’s small but great quality and getting 2 in the box makes them amazing value for money. It’s easy to operate, I put it down with my hand but can kick it with my foot when lifting it up, it’s a great door stop and I’d definitely recommend.

Small stays are good for light internal doors with spring closers. Probably not great for outdoor use.Slight weaknesses are:"self-drilling' screws are blunt and don't go in easily.On a hard floor, you have to mount it near vertical, making it harder to disengage with your foot. Modified with a large washer resolved it.

Holds the garage doors in perfect position

I screwed one on the shed door, to stop it opening too wide , the other one I stuck it on the outside door to stop the door shutting by the wind . Very good . I wonder why I did not buy them sooner

The first thing that strikes me is that when the 'leg' is returned to the upright position, the impact is so great that it's likely to damage the paint and/or wood of the door. They need some sort of buffer to absorb the impact (they're spring loaded). The second point is that all that keeps them on the floor is gravity and that isn't much good for smooth flooring which requires some downward pressure for grip. It does work on a carpeted floor but that somewhat limits their usefulness. I can't, in all honesty, say I'm greatly impressed. For anyone with an engineering background, the return mechanism consists of a captive flat spring pressing against a cam which forms part of the casting of the moving 'leg'. Hence downward pressure can only be obtained through gravity acting on the weight of the 'leg'.To get over the impact of the spring loaded return I stuck a self adhesive felt buffer on the door to cushion the impact (see photos). That works quite well.

Für Wohnbereiche gibt es schöneres. Einfache Montage, auf die richtige Höhe achten, ist der Winkel zu flach rutscht der Arm auf gatten Böden weg.
