The Hyper-X Plus TLSO Back Brace by Cybertech/Ottobock is a hyperextension back brace that limits forward flexion of the back and spine, reducing discomfort associated with compression fractures, degenerative disc diseases, kyphosis, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and other thoracolumbar and spinal injuries. It stabilizes and controls the body along with the lower lumbar spine, providing constant support and pain relief. This jewett back brace applies pressure to three areas of the body- the sternum, the midback, and the front of the hips, supporting the thoracic and lumbar spine and limiting forward flexion of the back. It helps to encourage proper posture and spinal alignment, which helps to reduce pain and discomfort. The frame of the brace has numerous features geared towards user comfort and compliance. The pelvic band is spring loaded and it rotates along with the patient, making it easy for one to move from a seated to a standing position or vice versa without the brace shifting out of position. The pad in the sternum area also moves with one's body, improving the function of the back brace. Soft padding along the areas that come in contact with the body also improve the comfort factor of this lumbar brace. The frame of the hyperextension orthosis can easily be adjusted both in terms of height and width to customize to each patient. This can be done without removing any screws from the brace. The aluminum material this brace is made of makes the brace quite lightweight. It is easy to put on and take off thanks to its quick-release closure system at the side of one's torso. The back brace also features a secure locking hatch that is easy to operate. It is available in two different options regular and short, and three different sizes: S, M, and L. The brace fits hip circumferences ranging from 31" to 44", and height ranging from 17" to 25".

Helped tremendously
I broke my back and this is the brace my Dr ordered for me. I received this brace just as fast as I would have, if I had gone to the orthopedic place to be fitted. I also saved a lot of money by buying it on Amazon. I was shocked to learn that thru my insurance, it would cost $267. Thru Amazon, it was only $154. On a whim, I searched it and it took me to Amazon. The brace is working. A little uncomfortable at first but, hey my back is broken, along with 2 ribs. I've gotten used to it now, and it's comfortable. It's keeping me uprightt. Thanks so much!

Love to hate this cage!
As someone with multiple slipped disks and hypermobility from Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, I needed something to hold myself upright while I sit at the desk. I am not going to lie, it is absolutely terrible to need this, and the chronic pain is an absolutely never ending misery, but in terms of a product, it is the best. It takes a while to get the bolts all set right, and get the hang of it, putting it off and on. I wear it off and on about 8 hours a day. If I didn't, I would be in (even more) pain. I am also lucky enough to also have scoliosis. Not only does this thing keep me from falling forward, (causing more slipped disks) it keeps me from leaning to one side of the chair to prop myself up. I also got a fully ergonomical keyboard and mouse set up as well as elbow pads (shelfs) that connect to the desk so that I am truly upright with my hands, arms, and back in the right position. This has decreased my pain. I also use it in the car on a longer drive. Lastly, you cant just put this thing on wrong and try it on and say it isn't any good. Since I am in this cage so much, I do have to take it off and have a thorough exercise routine as well as not to allow my muscles to atrophy. It is very very important to wear this correctly and also follow up with stretches, and the correct exercise routine. Oh, and the tank top in the picture is a no-go. You have to wear a cotton t-shirt or a better A Tank, because the metal portion will rub against your skin at your armpits. Also, size yourself correctly. I can tell that someone else tried this on and returned it before I received it. There were tool marks and it was obvious. However, I did not knock a star off because this is a piece of medical equipment and it does its job effectively. It is not the fault of the cage that the person who tried it on ordered the wrong size or was not supposed to actually use this. You have to know what is wrong with you and get the right medical devise. For Hypermobility and scoliosis, this it the correct piece of equipment.

QUALITY PRODUCT & EXCELLENT HELP FROM SELLER
I bought the brace after 2 phone calls to company for help in determining right size. They answered promptly. followed up and the brace was deliver right on time. Unfortunately it was the wrong size, called the company & set up the return & ordered another size. Adjusting the brace is not difficult, you look at the adjustment areas & the how to is intuitive -I am 75 yr old female with a hand tremor & I got it done. Scoliosis, broken back long ago and old age have helped with the worlds worst posture which causes the back to ache - am hoping the new one will fit because I know it will force me to correct my posture & eventually muscle memory will kick in enough that I will quit the constant slouch. Braceability is an outstanding company to deal with--don't waste your time or money on the silly over the shoulder thoracic type brace, I did and they are useless

More of a "posture corrector" Brace
The item itself is extremely bulky and so must be worn over my clothing, which I wouldn't mind if the brace helped to relieve my back pain. While it does serve the function of REMINDING me to correct my posture, it doesn't provide the support I would expect from a brace to help me keep this good posture, so regardless of whether I'm wearing it or not I still end up in pain. It's not the easiest thing to adjust, you need to unscrew it at the joints adjust it and then re-tighten it. I needed to have my daughter help me hold it in place while we loosened or tightened it, or extended or shortened it, until it fit correctly. With a little practice you can learn to close it on your own but after a few weeks with no improvement it's just collecting dust in the back of my closet. If you're simply looking for something to correct your posture there are far less expensive items that are much easier to conceal when you're in the office or going about your day. And if you're looking for something to alleviate pain you already have I wouldn't recommend this product. That being said the item arrived on time and though I couldn't find the policy, Please keep in mind that at the time of this posting, this specific seller has a 45 day return policy which is a pretty good amount of time to try it out and see if it works for you.

Definitely NEED assistance when first adjusting and putting brace on.
Like: restricts movement. Dislike: clear directions to adjust for size.Used to relieve motion for a fractured vertebrae

Not as uncomfortable as it looks
It is restrictive, but it keeps your back straight and reminds you to keep good posture. Once it is adjusted to fit you, it comes on and off pretty easily.

Straight forward. Easy ordering.
Brace Ability was awesome with shipping and communication. The brace is awesome and very easy to put on and adjust. Great instructions and easy to order. A life saver as these braces are impossible to order as a patient in Canada. Price was great and shipping cost was reasonable.
