VTech Kidi Star DJ Mixer

This was a Christmas gift and my 10-year old son started playing with it immediately while it was still in the box. And I like playing with it too! It has lots of options and you can layer different beats and sound effects. My son loves it - definitely a great gift and not just for little kids. There are four different music styles: hip hop, chill, techno, and electronic pop, and within each style there are additional variations. The buttons play different beats and sounds according to which style of music you choose. The disco ball projects cool lights, but you can also turn the lights off while you play. This was a great choice for my kiddo - five stars.

This DJ mixer is absolutely amazing. It looks very cool, has lots of buttons and features, and keeps kids fully engaged. My kids were instantly excited and love playing with it. The controls are fun and interactive, the design is eye-catching, and the sound quality is surprisingly good for a kids’ toy. It really feels like you’re getting a lot for the price. Great value for money and a fantastic toy for kids who love music and interactive play. Highly recommend.

Pressing the buttons, everything worked perfectly. Moneywise this was a great buy surprised It wasn’t more money. I think it looks great. It even has a little light up disco ball thing. I found myself playing with it a bunch of times already. This is one of the coolest toys my child has

I saw a review for this on a random lady's YouTube channel. She posted a short featuring loud noisy toys that she was testing so fellow parents wouldn't have to. Well, she sold this for me. She said it was fun and worth the price. I waited some time to get it for one of my daughters and she is THRILLED with it. She throws dance parties for our household in her room...it's plenty loud, and the disco lights are the icing on the cake. They connect it to the tablet for more music options. This toy really is worth it. As a bonus, the price went down shortly before I ordered it. I would absolutely recommend this.

Got it for the kiddo for Christmas and I think I spent more time on it than they did. lol It has a line in, bluetooth connection and custom sound recording banks. It makes some nice danceable beats with a hip hop and dance mode. I was taken aback on how versatile it was. Is this really for kids? Get this for your little ones and when they get tired of it, keep it for yourself. You'll have fun with it. Even the DJ light has different modes. Superb!

My 8 month old LOVES toys with buttons, music & lights. We got him a toy remote control and toy phone, but he moved on quickly. I got him this toy hoping he would have fun figuring out all the features and so he loves it. When it turns off and the guy says “see you later” my son vocalizes to get me to turn it back on again. This is a video of him playing with the KidiStar DJ Mixer right out of the box. Requires 4AA batteries by the way, but it does turn on right out of the box so you can try it out in demo mode which is great if you have kids. So many cool features on this toy for a kid’s toy! You definitely get value for your money! I think my husband I will have a ton of fun playing around on the DJ mixer with our son.

Update: I had this is demo mode for a long time without realizing it until I read an answer to a question on here that said how to get it out of that mode. Now we can play a beat as long as we like without it turning off! It's been nearly two years since we first got this and it still gets regular play and we still love it! Read on for original review: This is the funnest toy we've had in a long time. I got this for my 6 year old's birthday and I must say, even though he and his 7 year old brother love it, I've spent some quality time on it myself while the kids were playing outside. The mixer has 15 different basic samples to choose from and then 15 different layering options per sample. There are also 5 additional "party" sounds per sample and an optional vocal track. You can adjust the tempo to a "slow jam" all the way up to a high energy break beat. There is a scratch wheel that also has 5 different scratch settings. The toy also lets you record your tracks to play back later. There's also an "academy" feature setting which is basically a Simon Says game designed to help you learn different beat layering techniques. I love this toy, but here are my pros and cons: Pros: -easy for age 6 and up to make tracks that sound good and give them confidence - hundreds of beat combination possibilities - genuinely decent sounding samples for kids - good variety of music styles from hip hop to dance -can record tracks for playback later -fun party light -bluetooth connectivity (haven't tried this feature) -scratch wheel has a heavy weight similar to a real one -headphone jack -batteries or plug in Cons: -Turns itself off really fast if you're not pressing buttons (6 measures only), so you can't just sit on a beat and listen to it for very long -No manual mode where you can press the buttons and make one sound to create your own beat. -The academy mode is kind of hard for younger kids Overall, this DJ set far exceeded my expectations for a kid's toy and we're really happy with it.

小学校5年生、1時間ほどで使いこなしていて、録音したりと、楽しそうにしています。練習モードもあるしで、飽きないようです。普段ゲームばっかりですが、こちらに時間がシフトしていて一生懸命遊んでいます。夏休みの暇つぶしににもなりそうだし、買ってよかったです♡

Got this for my 7 year old, she absolutely loves it. It's a big draw when other kids come over as well.

We ordered it for some special occasion to give it surprise to our son on 25th March. And of our surprise the product is spoiled and parts are missing. I am highly disappointed. Pls return and send me correct working item or refund my money.

So hears the thing, it's fun but it is simple, it's a toy. A toy guitar is comparable to a real guitar and this is the same. My daughter is musically inclined and plays classical piano, classical guitar but want to try sampling so she does play with this but it isn't stimulating for her creativity. It can record sounds and songs but all are very basic and short. That is not the items fault, it doesn't mask itself as anything but what it acually is, it is a market failure as there isn't really any middle ground between this toy and the simplest real dj mixer which is actually both very fiddly and time consuming to learn and use and much more expensive and requires access to other tech like a pc. Overall this product is great for what it is but it won't suit children that have a talent for music. My daughter still digs it out to be silly and have fun with her friends though and that's what toys are for right.
