Review is specific to movie poster size (27x40).Picture frames aren't exactly rocket science, and the basic profile aluminum styles aren't a fit for every decor obviously. But for movie posters, the typical thin plastic edging and plexi faced frames with the little bendy metal keep-in parts and a cardboard backer just end up being too flexy...even with a couple of nails the top edge ends up taking a bend under its own weight.Enter these as a replacement. Easy install, snap them open to screw to the wall. They provide screws and anchors, but these are so lightweight unless your drywall is utter crap or you bore out the holes being too aggressive with your drill, you don't really *need* the anchors. (People with young possibly inquisitive kids might choose otherwise.) Mine shipped assembled, flat, with the factory packaging carton very well reinforced internally (plastic corner protection and thin plywood strips along the short edges) and printed on the exterior that it was designed to be a shipping carton. (I bought 3 and they arrived with extra reinforcing 'L-bracket' hard solid cardboard parts around the stack, too, all band wrapped together. Very nicely considered.The spring action is a little creaky/noisy, gives me that fingernails-on-blackboard sensation, but snaps down solid and aligns very well for invisible corners. Holds the included matte protective film and your actual poster really well with none of the non-finished metal visible. Ingeniously simple and effective really.I had a poster which was a gift from a decade ago that I've never gotten around to hanging, and was an absolute beast to unroll....basically did it almost in place on the wall, slowly "sliding" the bottom corners down with my thumbs behind the matte cover with it resting on the open bottom edge of the frame, cursing every time it tried to pull its way back or droop out on my (there may or may not be a face print on the exterior of the matte from using my forehead as a 'third hand'). But once I managed to finagle it all down and snap all sides in place it looks perfect.We'll see how well the matte plastic top rejects clinging dust over time, but I have zero worries about the frames falling off the wall, or springs failing, or the poster 'moving' inside the frame despite it just being clamped. Plastic and some sort of expandy-core plastic backer should both be pH neutral so the poster won't take on any yellowing from the materials (acidity of the poster paper itself remains of course). The matte isn't perfectly clear, tiny bit 'frosted' so depending on angle of view and lighting it does impact the subject visibility a little bit but that's true of anything other than pure glass or scratch prone clear acrylic or polycarbonate....all of which are heavy and would negate the lightweight/ease benefits of this frame design.One star off is solely because some of the edges at the corners are pretty sharp, which is a safety factor, but pretty minor all told. I almost want to stick with 5 stars despite that.

Expensive but good quality

This frame was purchased for an ole school Bill Murray print art. I looked a multiple local places to find a frame to fit the print. Decided to check Amazon and was pleasantly surprised of the high quality of this frame. From the magnetic snap sides that hold the print in place and protected to the acrylic sun protected covering makes this frame an exceptional purchase. I was extremely impressed and pleasantly surprised.

Loved the design of this frame. Had a couple of larger vintage posters and the frame is amazing. Beyond my expectations. Would recommend to anyone!!!! The hidden mounts are very cool. Will buy again soon.

So easy to insert the poster and if and when the frame is attached to a wall you won't ever have to take it down even to swap the posters if desired. This specific size fit my 30x40 poster exactly. Once the rails are locked down it does overlap the edges of the poster but my piece in question has large margins and looks perfect. Feels quite sturdy but because the pane is plastic and the profile of the frame is very slim it does flex a little but once on the wall it doesn't matter.

After unpacking the frame, my prized poster was framed in about a minute and I like the options for hanging/installing the frame. So far I hung the frame with anchor picture hangers (holds up to 20 lbs) because I have horsehair walls, but it looks beautiful and has stayed. Also I love the matte finish to the front plastic, looks amazing!

It's so hard finding a reasonably priced frame for this size! At first I was worried this would look too industrial with the snap edges, but it's actually nicer than I expected. Easy to hang up and is pretty sturdy. Will buy again if I need to but hope the black will become available.

The outer frame bent on the long sides on both sides so it won't lay completely flat against the wall. I do like that it is easy to put my poster I side of the frame though and that it protects my poster.
