I made a knife out of a Martha Stewart butter knife with them and a hacksaw. Put on the edge, ground in jimping along the spine, an arrow straightener in front of the jimping, a pull hook for getting pots off the fire, and ground the spine to a 90 degree angle to strike a ferrorod, oh and buffed out all the hacksaw marks on the handle too. The files never skipped a beat. They're plenty hard and durable. No bending problems, VERY toothy. Made a seam ripper with them too. Outstanding little file set, will be buying more once I wear these out. I imagine that will be a while. Didn't think I was getting something so good for so cheap. Figured this project would be a struggle.

I wanted some small files for shaping the scales on some knives I had. My test piece was a Rat II with nylon scales. Halfway through the first scale, the file had an obvious bend at the top portion of the point. Save your time and money and spend a little more for a better set.

These are really nice needle files for small, precise filing work. The dipped handles make them comfortable as I don't like the ones with bigger handles. The included shapes are good...I have found a couple I didn't think I needed, but now use pretty regularly. Glad I have these vs others that are lower quality.

I love the value on this set the most, what a bargain for 10 needle files. Bright yellow storage case so you will never lose your needle files. Works very well on sharpening my hand saw, a little tedious but hard work is its own reward. I would recommend this needle file set to everybody that needs one, guaranteed to be useful for something!
