This book is beautiful, however as a learner of Chinese there are some things you should know before buying. 1. importantly and unfortunately the author (Taiwanese) decides to mix traditional characters with simplified, this is in my opinion is a huge mistake and ruins the book as I had to draw over the characters which were simplified and it is confusing. I think they should have published one in traditional / one in simplified. I thought the author being from Taiwan would know the importance of traditional... also the tones are show numerically, it would be much better to show pinyin tone marks. Lastly the index is organised in English, again not helpful to a learner who wants to look up the pinyin. It is a nice coffee table book, but for learning Chinese I don't recommend.

Terrific book! Great for a visual learners
Terrific book! Great for a visual learner such as myself. I'll get the rest of the series as I work my way through this book. I already speak some Mandarin but I do not read or write Chinese. This is being very helpful. Thank you!

I have been struggling ttrying to learn and right Chinese. I've bought numorous books and have tried learning in various creative ways. However, nothing compares to how fun and easy it is to learn Chinese with this book! The pictures and instructions makes learning Chinese enjoyable! Highly recommended!

Rushed to print. Needs careful editing.
Just received and started reading this to prepare to teach my children, and am disappointed to discover a sloppy mistake early on page 11. "Tree" instead of "mountain" on a basic elemtantal explantation would be very confusing for new learners. Sigh.

cool book
this book is so amazing!!! i've been learning characters so quickly... the only downside is Im not as familiar with the pronunciation but that's okay. I don't think both books are necessary though... pretty much the same thing.

It is very good and entertaining
It is very good and entertaining. I'm surprised that there was no chapter on colors. I still think it is a really good book for an introduction to learning how to read Chinese.

Well Illustrated!
I bought this for both my son and I. We find it easy to follow and have learned quite a bit about the language, it’s history, and how to use it. The illustrations are well done and help significantly in understanding characters.Highly recommend for beginners.

Bello
Libro veramente interessante, affascinante. Lo consiglio a chi è interessato ai caratteri cinesi. Oltre alle illustrazioni contiene anche spiegazioni: sembra un buon punto di partenza per i sinofili.

Me gustó bastante
Libro de muy buena calidad; artístico y divertido. Ayuda bastante a memorizar caracteres de una manera amigable. Ideal para principiantes e intermedios.

Una buena guía de referencia
Realmente se trata de un libro artístico, por lo que no lo recomiendo para aprender el idioma desde cero. Sin embargo, si tienes un poco de conocimiento del idioma, es muy recomendable porque puede ayudarte a memorizar algunos caracteres.
