I'm building maybe my last BUILD (70yrs. old and very sick). So I wanted to build it the right way, starting from the ground up. So I'm starting by getting an Anti-Static Mat. My System is going to be the best of the BEST, price will not be an object. From a New Gaming Full Tower Case to Video Card, m.2 & ssd memory, 1200Watt PSU and all the NEW Bells & Whistles !!! So as You can see; I don't want any stupid short to blow out this NEW SYSTEM. I could of spend a lot more money on an Anti-Static Mat, but why waste Good Money on something that is already the BEST and all I need to get the Job done in a VERY SAFE WAY ? This Mat will do It's JOB and More. More Money for my MASTER BUILD. I've been Building Personal Home Computers for 30 years or more. So how come I'm not as rich as Gates ? ANYWAY BUY THIS MAT !!! It's all You'll NEED !!!

I purchased a couple of these for two locations I frequent. Although the mat is a bit annoying that it doesn't lay very flat, it still gets the job done if you need something compact and portable. You can still keep screws from rolling all over, protect your device and the surface you are working on, see your parts, and most importantly not fry components with static if you happen to be in such an environment where one step and you've got a 2mm static arc. This brings up the major deficiencies in this kit. I had to purchase inexpensive plastic outlet banana jack adapters that certainly almost anyone would want to actually ground this kit, why they are not included is beyond me. Secondly of course is the fact that I'm using a one gallon freezer ziploc bag to contain the portable anti static mat and it's accessories? For an extra $5 this would be a complete and polished product. Although you would not be happy with the mat in a more permanent work shop setting, with a couple of extras you can build up a kit that stores compactly and is highly transportable. Recommended bit it could certainly be improved.

This was a great set that allowed me to show my son how ESD works. I bought a second strap so that we could both be connected to the pad at the same time. Probably overkill for a PC build, but it was what I needed it to be.

This mat has helped me well I used this mat several times to change a ram/memory stick out of several laptop’s and a battery replacement installing a new battery.

If you are someone handy with tools and spend a lot of time diy-ing stuff, you know the value of good tools. Gets the job done without fuss, less damage to hardware and less risk of injury. This is one of those.

This is exactly the ESD mat that I was hoping to find. The mat has a nice weight and feel to it, and it's a great size for working at home on a normal kitchen or coffee table. I like that this mat has two snap-on locations instead of just one. I also really like the fact that the alligator clip accessory has 2 integrated banana-plug connectors. You can use these as an alternative to the alligator clip for grounding, and they're especially convenient if your power supply does not have a ground screw or clip. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
