strong, long lasting, well made candle
I have been using this in a medium to large room, and the scent is noticeable even before lighting. Once lit, it spreads quickly and fills the space without needing much time. The scent is one of the strongest I have had from a single wick candle. The fragrance is layered and leans floral and perfumey, with rose, citrus, and deeper woody notes. It feels more complex than a basic sweet candle. Some days I really enjoy that depth. Other days it feels a bit intense. If you prefer light or barely there scents, this is probably too much. Burn quality has been good. The wax melts evenly, the flame stays steady, and it burns slowly. After several long sessions, it still looks barely used. The glass is thick and heavy, and the candle feels durable. Packaging is a big part of this product. It comes in a sturdy, attractive box and includes a gold marker so you can write on the jar. The idea is nice, but it is more novelty than something I would rely on. In terms of value, the scent quality and burn time are good, but the price is closer to luxury territory. A lot of that cost goes toward presentation. If you plan to give it as a gift, that makes more sense. If you just want a good smelling candle for yourself, there are cheaper options that perform well. Overall, this is a high quality candle with a bold, complex scent and excellent build quality. I enjoy using it and it lasts a long time. I think it is worth it mainly if you like strong fragrances and care about packaging. Otherwise, it feels slightly overpriced for everyday use.

Bold scent with luxe presentation
This candle definitely stands out for how strong and fast the scent fills a room, even before lighting. The fragrance leans floral and layered with some citrus and woody depth, which feels more like a perfume than a basic candle, though it can be a bit intense at times. Burn quality has been solid with an even melt and long-lasting use, and the thick glass jar feels durable and well made. The packaging is beautiful and gift-ready, with a fun personalized touch.

Not a bad candle, just not worth the price
This candle is floral, but not in a headache or migraine-inducing way. It’s more of a “cool Gen X" grandma type of floral, not the traditional overly powdery Boomer grandma kind. It’s made in Canada, which I do appreciate since it suggests better manufacturing standards and materials. That said, $54 is a lot to ask, especially for a relatively new brand. I already spend good money on Voluspa and Le Labo candles, and this one doesn’t quite justify the price. Yes, I know it’s backed by Drake and someone well known in the fragrance world, but that doesn’t really add value for me. This is my second candle from Better World Fragrance House, and I’m still not convinced it’s worth it. The first one leaned too masculine for my taste, and this one goes too far in the other direction (too feminine) and in my opinion, is too floral. I’m also not sure why this is labeled as “gourmand.” I can smell the rose and iris, but the Italian citrus is very faint, if that. And citrus like lemon or orange is usually fresh and bright, not gourmand unless it's paired with vanilla, tonka beans, etc. (couldn't detect these notes either). There’s nothing sweet or rich in this candle that would make it "oriental gourmand" (🙄 their words, not mine). Overall, it’s not a bad candle, but between the price and the scent profile, I wouldn’t get it again nor recommend it unless you like floral scents. Burn time has been average so far. It also tunneled instead of burning evenly, which wasn’t surprising. I’ve noticed single-wick candles in these narrower glass jars tend to have this issue. I’ve had the same thing happen with my Rituals candles. What helps is wrapping a bit of aluminum foil around the top while it’s burning. It’s not the prettiest fix, but it does help trap heat and melt the wax more evenly across the surface.

Beautiful Presentation, But Very Faint Scent
I was super excited about this candle when it arrived. The packaging is awesome and feels very elevated. I especially love that it comes with a gold pen so you can write who the candle is for. That’s such a unique and thoughtful novelty touch that really makes it feel giftable and special. Unfortunately, the fragrance itself is extremely faint. I’ve burned it in both a small room and a larger room, and there is virtually no throw at all. I can barely tell what the scent is supposed to be, even when standing close to it. I’m honestly not sure if mine is defective, but for a candle at this level, I expected much more fragrance presence. The presentation is beautiful, but I’m quite disappointed in the overall performance.

Nice
I’ve been burning this candle in a medium-sized living room for a couple of weeks, and it does a lot right. The scent is sweet without turning syrupy, with a warm, bakery-like note that fills the space in about 20–30 minutes. The wax pool forms pretty evenly if you give it a long first burn, and I haven’t had issues with tunneling. The throw is strongest for the first half of the jar, then it softens a bit, which is typical but worth noting if you like a loud fragrance. The glass looks clean on a shelf, and the wick has only needed minimal trimming to avoid a smoky edge. Best for everyday cozy use in bedrooms or living areas, especially if you prefer sweeter scents that aren’t overpowering. This item is a good value for the money.
