Antoine de Saint-Exupery is a real great man with far-reaching wisdom into the life of men.
Antoine de Saint-Exupery is a real great man with far-reaching wisdom into the life of men. I am completely in awe with this collection of his sayings. The book content is divided into six quote sections: Happiness, Friendship, Love, Responsibility, Fortitude, and What Is Essential. I will give you what I think is one best quote from each section.HappinessTrue freedom lies only in the creative process. The fisherman is free when he fishes according to his instinct. The sculptor is free when carving a face. P. 7FriendshipMan is a knot into which relationships are tied. P. 22LoveVery slowly do we plait the braid of friendships and affections. We learn slowly. P. 30ResponsibilityThere is no growth except in the fulfillment of obligations. P. 41FortitudeThe seed haunted by the sun never fails to find its way between the stones in the ground. P. 55What Is EssentialA past event is like a wandering stone fallen from heaven. One can neither move it nor penetrate it. P. 81It seems like he could and would make a great philosopher as well for he has perfect logic, highest wisdom, and profoundest insight which can be inferred from the quotes. He is a person that could very well write a religious classic. Somehow I wonder how he obtains the knowledge of "that kind of thing" i.e., he sums up the meaning of life and religiousness real well and true. His writing is also the very best but with the above mentioned qualities, the good writing fades into the background, "It doesn't matter what language he uses, if it's that deep."The section I think best is What Is Essential and the section I do not think is as good as other sections is Love. Anyway just like something of authenticity with excellent standard, it's the matter of individual taste which must be acquired as an individual acquired taste. I mean, what you see (read) is what you get.

Briefly Stated
I would ratherread whole books, no t brief words of wisdom. For those who like brevity, this might be just the little book.

Precious little book
I loved the very attractive cover and inside the insightful words from the poet were a joy to read.

Suggestions to reap the full meaning of the Little Prince.
Over the years as a teacher and a counselor I have used this book both in talking about relationships and the spiritual realm. The part relating to the fox and the prince is a great example of growing in relationships. Over the years I cannot tell you how many copies I have lent or given to people.

Instant Inspriation
I carry this little tome around with me and read a pearl or two of de Saint-Exupry's wisdom when I need cheering up or encouragement. This is a wonderful synthesis of his choicest words and sayings, and a welcomed bed-side addition to everyone's library. Not to mention it makes a great gift for that hard-to-please young or old reader on your birthday and/or holiday list.Submitted by June J. Inspiring but too short
What is here is good, to very good, to outstanding, but it is too short. It does leave you wanting to read is full works. I did enjoy it, but in the end was left with the feeling that what I read was insufficient in length and breadth.

Beautifully Bound.
Beautifully bound book. I purchased it as a gift for new parents. The fabric covered hard bound book with gold lettering is a nice touch. Received quickly and packaged well too.

The delivery and order was a great success. The book itself is NOT like The Little Prince. It's a collection of quotes from the author with beautiful illustrations

Would make a great gift
This is a beautifully presented volume of tidbits and quotes from the collected works of Antoine de Saint Exupery, the insights are funny thoughtful and sometimes moving. (Anyone who has read The Little Prince knows how beautiful Antoine de Saint Exupery's writing is).As there is only really a sentence per page if you try to read this book all at once you miss the significance and insights of some of the quotes, instead this is a great book to have by your bed to read a little of each night.Although I would recommend this book to anyone, as it is called `A Guide for Grown-ups' I would particularly recommend that this would make a really great gift for someone celebrating a `grown-up' birthday.

Excellent digestible tidbit compendium
Bought for my young twenty something stepdaughter who is going through a lot of life changes and getting more into reading. She loved this and found it instantly inspirational. It’s just the right size of well chosen tidbits from de Saint-Exupéry’s works for whet the appetite for more or simply take in his profound wisdom quickly. Great for gifting.

Beautiful and Timeless.
Not much more to say beyond the other reviews. Bought this as a present for a new born to grow into, but worth getting the better bilingual edition with CD if it is for yourself. Will probably buy a copy every time a friend has a child.
