Helpful exam study guide for this awful test we have to take!! I'm not sure any particular study guide is going to help or not--but this one did what I needed--just to brush up on stuff I don't see everyday!

Excellent study guide!
Excellent study guide. I used this as a starting point for my first recertification. Highly recommend to anyone getting ready to take the PANRE.

Great studying product.
I'm studying on the book and with the flashcards that i also bought.Remember also use other books to study for the PANRE (like LANGE Q & A (6th edition) book, and also Dwayne williams panre/pance).

Great price for a top-notch product
Excellent product at an excellent price. Highly recommend for PANRE preparation. You won't find a better price than what Amazon is offering for this book.

You can preview O'Connell and it is far better. Not only do they discuss visual field defect ...
I have been a NCCPA P.A. since 1982! I have taken the PANRE a few times. As I specialize over time I have noticed my scores decrease each time I take the PANRE. I decided to buy the Secrets book for my next exam as I do not want to lose certification.Book arrived last night. I just spent 10 minutes looking it over and I am sending it back. Why?Hematology: 1 page 3 topics covered: B 12 deficiency, sickle cell and clotting. That's it !Absolutely no oncology. Not a mention of CLL,CML etc. And questions on these have appeared every time I take PANRE.Pharmacology: weak in a word.HEENT: No mention of visual field defectsI could go on and on..My suggestion is for the same money get Diamond or O'Connell review books. You can preview O'Connell and it is far better. Not only do they discuss visual field defect they have a nice diagram of visual tracts.Way more sample question.Overall a better book.As for me I am spending a few hundred dollars and taking the Hippo review. Hippoed.com.You can have access to the video lectures and questions for free for a 4 hour time block. I am sold on Hipp.Check it out. If you are more confident get O'Connell or Diamond. After 30 years as a P.A.-C. I am willing to spend the money for fully comprehensive review course and I get access for one year as opposed to attending a 3 day course and having it crammed down my throat.

Not impressed, better prep books out there
It feels like the authors did not fully read the NCCPA blueprint before writing the book. It is written in a disorganized fashion with random paragraphs about related diseases just thrown in anywhere. Maybe it’s me/my learning style. No index pages, I added a cross referenced copy of the blueprint that helped. The printed practice exam seemed a little on the easy side, not a lot of K-type questions. The “light highlighting” was all the correct answers on the practice exam. Would’ve been nice to say that in the description of this used copy.
