The water actually goes through the whole pot and doesn't get stuck draining down a side or something. Waters perfectly and easily and drains quickly.

I just transplanted my baby cacti into this medium and I really liked working with it. I think it will be great and prevent the root rot problems I was having with traditional succulent soil. This product does not have any soil quality to it, so if you prefer to have a bit more of a soil effect, you will need to add your preferred growth medium to create the blend you want. I also like that it added some stability to my cacti, and a bit of weight to the pot so they're less likely to tip over. I bought the smaller bag and it was perfect. I don't like to have a lot of stuff sitting around cluttering up my space. It is a tad more expensive than traditional succulent growth mediums, but well worth the value for the quality.

This stuff is excellent, especially for cacti and some of my succulents. I only wish there was a much larger bag offered. Works great as a top dressing too

This is a great starter soil for most bonsai in most environments. Dust is minimal and the soil size is a happy medium.

I love this soil and use it more as a mixer for my own soil mixes. I have a few cactus in just JACKS GRITTY MIX but for the most part I and so water retention to this so that I can have a little water stay behind for the roots. everything that is planted in it is thriving.
