This little charmer is fun. The lathe and accessories are adequate for what I do, make sure you get what you need for you craftsmanship. It will need to be attached to a bench.

A very good and reliable piece of equipment so far. The last one I bought died within 70 days so I am keeping my fingers crossed this last a lot longer.

Honestly probably deserving of less stars but it is somewhat working as a lathe. I bought this to start practicing on pens. Track wasn't long enough for the pen mandrel so had to make adjustments to both this lathe and the mandrel. Got it working and the tools wouldn't cut the purple heart wood I was using so am in an extra $160 for carbide tools. Hopefully it will work with the new tools otherwise we'll have to chalk it up as failing for being cheap and hope the $500+ lathe I'll purchase next isn't as cheap. Also the hole on the chuck for this lathe is super small and won't hold any traditional attachments like ring mandrels so bear that in mind. Overall a fun little device but so far proving worthless and the modifications I had to make weren't ideal which could be fixed by just adding 5 inches to the track. A larger guide rail would also be cool.

This is a great tool for my miniature toy soldier accessories like barrels. Although the lathe turns too fast for my projects I have used it by manually turning the barrels to paint the bands. I highly recommend this for those in the toy soldier hobby.

For $39 you can have a lot of fun. Trying to figure out if I can change the chuck. RPMs are high ! Included tools work pretty well on round 1/2" soldid PVC, I drove a phillips head small bit to be able to use the chuck with 1/2" round, then turned the opposite end down so I could chuck the workpiece. Fun !
