I thought iPhone 13 pro max cases aren’t compatible with 12 pro max phones?

All they did was enlarge the cutout for the rear cameras, and adjust the size off the power button cutout, this way they had to change minimal tooling for manufacturing, and then marked the same case for 2 devices. These are the only differences on the iPhone 13 Pro Max vs the iPhone 12 Pro Max. (Well aside from them moving the SIM card tray up closer to the volume buttons.) I actually have my iPhone 13 Pro Max in the same case for my iPhone 12 Pro Max, the Defender Series XT, until I can find a case I like for the 13.

Why is there a $20 difference between 2 Otterbox Defender cases that both look exactly the same with the same specs listed??

My opinion is because it’s not a real blue , more like purple..

Why does the otterbox case i received only state for the iphone 12 pro max and no reference to the iphone 13 pro max on the product's box at all?

Did the box the case arrived in have a label that stated something like "2021 iPhone X-Large"? In order to get products into the hands of consumers as quickly as possible after an Apple device announcement that is something that we do. As long as the back camera of your iPhone 13 Pro Max fits the case then you definitely have the latest version that is compatible with both devices.
