Most definitely love all of the Forgotten Realms books. This one has been a great addition to my book collection.

It's an okay book. Unless your a forgotten realms fans, don't waste your time with this book.
This is a typical EG book, it's okay. I love the worlds & characters EG creates for his books. I have read probably 4 EG books. They make you want to be in those places while your reading the book. Most his characters are awesome, and you want to love or hate them. My problem with EG books is, somewhere a little before, or after the middle of the books, they get stagnant. The book seems to stop moving forward, and the action in them becomes repetitive. They are repetitive to the point, that it seems like the rest of the book could have been told in 20 pages, not a 100-300 more pages. I mean, how many characters can you fit in a bar, or inn at the same time? So here is a few short & sweet pro & cons of this book, and it applies to every book of EG's I have read:1) The worlds/area in this book is vibrant and very cool.2) The main characters all have their personalities & traits. That helps to bring them to life.3) Some of the side characters are fun, and add a lot to the stories.4) At some point in EG's books, the action seems to stop moving forward and drags the books down.5) This book seems to have a lot of side characters that add nothing to the story.6) His books have huge areas/worlds in them. He seems to concentrate on a few places for the action to take place. If your a forgotten realms fan, you will probably like this book in some way shape or form. This book slows to a crawl around half way through it, and it got tedious to finish it. Not recommended for non D&D, forgotten realm fans.

Same as KoMD1...disappointed
I started reading this series with high expectations. Ed Greenwood is an icon in the D&D PnP world, thus I thought these books would be just as impressions as his other contributions. They are not. Dragonfire continued where Eveningstar left off-- simplistic plot and no substantial character development. After >800 pages, I feel I don't even really know the characters. Don't even get me started on the ending-- very abrupt and very Return of the Jedi-- everyone gets a Woo Hoo! and a pat on the back. Ugh.

decent forgotten realms book, liked the cormyr setting
Im not the biggest Ed Greenwood fan, though I do enjoy his books. I like this series and enjoyed this one, though im a bigger Salvator fan, love his fighting description ;) Characters are a bit flat, main characters anyway, the appearance of the more well known cormyr characters is well done, but they have quite a background already. Overall, 3 out of 5. I enjoyed it enough, to finish the series.

don't buy
Worst fantasy book I've ever read. There is not one coherent idea throughout the book. Reads like 5 books that have been randomly mixed together
