***ORIGINAL***It seems like an otherwise good product has been marred by poor quality control. My mold has 2 such deformations in it, rendering it useless as it would lock the metal in place. 2* rating will remain in place until replacement arrives, and will be updated accordingly.***UPDATE***The replacement is somehow equally as bad, while technically being functional. While the sides have no locking deformities, the replacement appears to be unevenly tapered. 2 of the 6 sides seem to be a different angle than the other 4. Not having a precision tool, I can not provide the exact degrees, however it is notable and visible to the eye. The hexagons at the base are also marred, but that would be easily fixed with an aggressive polish. At this point, I'll be returning. I *Want* to love the product, and I would *LOVE* to have a fully functional one, but 0 out of 2 shipped to me have been what is advertised.***Update two***When taking side by side photos for comparison, the type of graphite used is noticeably, visibly different. I am not an expert, but it looks very similar to crucible graphite, and is not smooth to the touch like most molds are, except where machined. I don’t know if this is important to you, but be aware.
