THIS IS A GOOD BATTERY!
I HATE chepo camera batteries, but this is not one of them just a very good deal.In addition to loving photography and earning money through picture sales, I'm a service manager of a motorcycle dealer and in the past was an industrial electrician. I have always liked batteries and have substantial education on and work experience with batteries.I tested this battery against the new oe battery that my LX7 came with. First setting the interval timer and using flash for every picture on respective fully charged batteries, result:Panasonic oe battery 186 pictures with flashWasabi Power: 261 pictures with flashNext up on respective fully charged batteries I placed a constant 0.4 amp load until the battery voltage fell to 2.9 volts and through time arrived at amp hour capacity:Panasonic oe: 1221 mAHWasabi Power: 1759 mAHLastly I fully charged both batteries, took 2 pictures on each to remove surface charge and then let both batteries sit outside camera for 72 hours measuring voltage with my highest resolution Fluke multimeter before and after 72 hour rest to get an idea of how quickly batteries are likely to loose charge while sitting. Result:Panasonic oe battery dropped by 4 micro voltsWasabi Power battery dropped by only 3 micro voltsA real laboratory test of these batteries would be conducted on dozens of samples and include many other types of tests BUT.... All indications are that as apposed to many other off brand batteries I have used, these Wasabi Power batteries are very high quality.Lastly the Wasabi Power battery DOES communicate with both my LX5 and LX7 cameras and show an accurate battery level indication on the camera screen.Thumbs up from me!

May have a steep power indication drop off, YMMV
Having a spare battery for your camera is a must, especially when the battery source is not a couple of AAs.Rather than pay a small fortune for an extra Panasonic-branded battery, I bought the highly recommended Wasabi third-party substitute. The price was certainly an order of magnitude smaller. Then again, you get what you pay for. While the Wasabi DOES seem like a good match for the Panasonic battery that came with my camera, it has one failing: It drops off a veritable power cliff. You get a lot of power for a long time, then suddenly the bars on your power indicator wane rapidly. Not sure why that occurs for the Wasabi, but the Panasonic does not show that same precipitous plummet. The Panasonic dies more linearly--or signals its actual state to the camera better. If the Wasabi shows a missing bar or two in the indicator, better have another battery ready to go in a moment.Still, all that said, the Wasabi holds a lot of juice. Just note when you lose a bar on the power indicator and know that it will be in need of a recharge before the Panasonic would have.

Worth the price.
First to answer some questions I've read. Yes, it functions like the original in every way except power, despite the extra 450mAh rating it dosen't seem to last as long. Mine did come with a plastic battery cover just like the original.I'm disappointed in Panasonic for more or less abandoning it's batteries to after market suppliers. My original 7 year old battery functions like new but but I worried for how long. For the price this is about as good as it gets.

its a decent replacement
of course you buy these aftermarket batteries for there price, i have bought several like this one over the years for various cameras ive owned, i had one melt down one time in a battery charger, not shure if it was the charger or battery, both were after market but i suspect the charger ruined that one. this wasabi is fine in my lx7. the battery level shows fine. hold about the same number of shots as the lumix battery, id not count on it for more than that. i dont often need a second battery and dont really have a need for a second battery to last as long anyway, sort of a stop gap. id buy it again. it works .

Good choice for 2nd battery
Bought as a back-up battery while for travel in Europe. My original battery is 3 years old. The Wasabi Power battery matches the performance of the 3 year old original Panasonic battery. I consider that to be very good. I get a few over 200 shots out of each battery. The only minor complaint is the Wasabi has gone from showing fully charged on the camera charge indicator to dead. This happened only a couple of times. It usually drops to 2 bars of 3 and then I know it is near time to change. Use the Wasabi first and the Panasonic last to be sure you have the best heads up on power remaining. Good battery. I would buy again and recommend to friends.

Disappointing battery life for new product - no better than the 8 year old battery I had
This battery works fine in the LX-5. No worries there. But it doesn't power the device any longer than the 8-year-old battery that came with the camera, and which has been used ever since. I'd expect a new battery, even a generic one, to be closer to the life of the original when it was new. Not so with this one.So at this point, I carry both and switch them when one gets low. I use this camera doing work for clients, and the lack of decent battery life is a major annoyance.

High quality, good battery life thus far, OEM fitment.
It used to be you'd never buy an aftermarket battery for fine electronics. Too risky. This seems to be changing, and the Wasabi shows thus far to be an excellent quality second battery for the Lumix (also fits the Leica D Lux 6). Nicely sealed case, exact fit, and quality plated contacts. I have not done a milliamp-hour drain test to accurately compare this to the OEM Panasonic battery, but use both interchangeably and seem to get several days or 200 shots of filming and editing on either before a recharge is needed. The recharge rate/time on both is comparable. So if you need a spare batt for your digicam - and you must if you depend on it - this one is just fine and saves a few bucks over OEM.

Just received. Now start validating.
This one is in the same package of other batteries that I bought from this seller.Shipping is very slow. I ordered it on Jan 01 but received it on Jan 14. It was shipped from Ca but how come it took that long like it was shipped from China. I'm not happy with this shipping speed.I'm charging the batteries now to test. Will rate it fairly and truthly. I'll return with more info about its liability.

good battery
This battery is for my new Japanese version LX7 bought from Tokyo on May 2014, camera software version V.1.0, no newer version available at this time. Battery fits same as original, it did communicated with the LX7 and shown the battery bars. I tried on the original charger for a few minutes and it did charging, took it out before it fully stop because it come already fully charged. Took some video and pictures, turns it on and off in different hours, on day later, it still shown fully charged and working fine. A good buy, satisfied. I decided to buy this instead of some cheaper one thanks to those people who wrote good reviews for this battery with LX7. I hope amazon can have an option to deliver to my nearest post office, instead of dropping it off in my front door where too much people around before I back from work. That made me hesitate to buy on line.(update: after a birthday dinner party with some video and picture taking, it shown 2 bars and I think it is as good as the original.)

Good Alternative
All is good...except the outrageously high claimed capacity. Otherwise the Wasabi is as good as the Panasonic original. I took a chance with the Wasabi BCJ13 considering the price at about 70% of the Panasonic and I have to say that I am satisfied with the decision. Although the capacity is not close to what it claimed at 1700mAh.....but the Wasabi lasted just as long as the Panasonic original at 1250mAh. Highly Recommended!

more power
This has more Ah than the camera's original battery. Therefore, the original is my backup. The camera definitely requires a second battery if one wants to review pics as they are shot.

These batteries works great in both my LX5 and LX7 cameras and their chargers. At 1/3 the cost of the genuine OEM I can definitely recommend them as suitable replacements or backups. I haven't compared the total number of shots to the OEM battery but they lased over a day of intermittent well over 100 shots in RAW. I guess usage will vary if you take videos and or flash. At $20 it's definitely worth a try.
