Nice security box for the price
This drawer safe, like all similar safes, is really more of a security box than a real safe. That can also be said for safes many times more expensive, though. A burglar could take the whole safe and open it later. It includes bolts for fastening to the drawer bottom, but in most cases the entire drawer could be taken, so I probably won't even use those. For what it is, it seems sturdy and serves its purpose. It's also very easy to use. I bought it because a family member has the slightly larger model and is pleased with it. The lock has been updated so that it's more difficult to pick and the batteries seem secure. It's easy to reset the number code and the master code, which is a second number code for opening the safe. Set your code by pressing the reset button beside the batteries and enter three to eight numerals, then the # key. To reset the master or second code, press 0 twice, then the reset button, then the other code you want and the # key. It might come with a preset master code so be sure to enter two new codes of your own. To initially open the safe, remove the keyhole cover, insert one of the keys, and turn the key and the knob toward each other. Then open and insert the batteries and set both your number codes. Test before closing the safe. Directions are included. It can then be opened with either of your number codes or with the two keys in case the batteries die or you forget your codes. This fits in my nightstand drawer but is too tall to fit in my kitchen drawers. The height is about 4-5/8". The inside is large enough to hold two compact pistols, jewelry, small tablet, or similar items. The depth is reduced by the thickness of the locking mechanism on the inside of the lid, though, so thick items won't fit. This should be enough security to keep out young kids, friends of friends, or any visitors with sticky fingers or who are overly nosy. it probably won't protect things from a burglary when you're not home. The larger models will bolt to the floor or wall framing and would be a more secure, but this one conveniently fits in a drawer. I had a similar one that cost over twice as much but I like this one better so far.

Great Value, Solid Safe.
AmazonBasics Security Safe 0.5 Cubic Feet General: I purchased the safe from Amazon Warehouse Deals (the item was backordered and I wanted to get something in place before traveling). I couldn't even tell that it had been "refurbished" or "used". All of the necessary pieces were included-2 keys, instruction manual, 4 anchors and the safe itself. If you are concerned about the safe not being fire rated, just buy a fire resistant bag and call it good. Install: I had zero issues with the installation. I ended up only using two of the drywall anchors that were included. I was able to use 3" lag bolts into a stud for the other two. Overkill? Probably, but that safe isn't coming out without the stud attached to it. I read a few reviews of users saying, "the included anchors didn't fit through the hole of the safe". That is by design. Simply take the anchor assembly apart, slide the bolt head and washer through the safe and reattach on the other side. Just an FYI, the included anchors are designed to be used in masonry or brick but will work in drywall. If you just plan on mounting it to the wall, go grab a few carriage bolts with some spring toggles and you should be good to go. Mounting to the floor? Get a lag bolt with a good "bite" to it. Sink those suckers in and you are ready to go. Usage: Keypad was easy to program and the backup keys worked great. Things that beep drive me nuts so I went ahead and got rid of the pcb mounted speaker immediately. Simply unscrew the two phillips head screws, disconnect power (I might as well tell people to play it safe) and pull the the PCB assembly. You have a couple options here. 1. Poke a hole through the speaker (long cylindrical piece making the obnoxious sound). 2. Put a glue or epoxy into the speaker. 3. Put a small piece of duct tape or electrical tape covering the hole (if you want to have the option of removing it at some point). 4. Use a soldering iron and desolder the connection points (I am a bit of a perfectionist and like things to have a clean appearance). 5. Take a pair of pliers and rip the darn thing off. I have had zero troubles with the safe of the operation of the safe so far. Pros: *Easy to install. *Secures to wall very securely. *Piece of mind living in an apartment that valuables can't just get swiped. *Good size, which makes this easy to stash away in a closet or inconspicuous location. *The two shelf spaces. It makes organizing the safe much easier. *Heck of alot better than my old "safe" that I could open with the end of my fingernail clippers. Cons: *Beeper is annoying. *Beeper is annoying. *None. Summary: You are getting what you pay for here. Sure, it isn't Fort Knox but it will stop or slow down would be robbers/roommates/junkies/maintenance men with sticky fingers etc. I plan on buying a couple more just because, I am an American, and that's how we role. Enjoy!

Decent, with pros and cons
Pros - solid feeling, not too big so can fit under bed or on a shelf, allows for bolting to floor or wall, easy to open (once you figure out the trick, see Cons below), interior easily will hold proudly 4” worth of 8.5”x11” paper lying flat plus several bulking items (think jewelry boxes, hand guns, other valuables). I saw the photos of it surviving someone’s fire, and it looks like it would last a fire awhile but because there are holes for mounting, you might want to get a fireproof pouch to put inside as well or fill the holes. Due to the holes, definitely not waterproof but it might be enough to fill holes with caulk? Cons- took awhile to figure out the code thing… the trick is to follow instructions and when it mentions press #, the trick is to press AND HOLD # (which wasn’t mentioned). After that it is easy. The safe probably could be broken into with medium effort, but for theives looking for a quick pick, they’d probably take a pass especially if it’s bolted in. Probably not fully fireproof, and definitely not water proof, but work around might be doable (see Pros above).

Your valuables are safe here.
If you read the reviews saying a child can get into this safe I am here to tell you this safe is serious business. I forgot the code and lost the key. I could not get it open. I went on YouTube and did everything that was suggested to make it “pop” open. It would not. I finally had my friends husband take a crack at it. He had to put it down in the driveway and take a sledge hammer to it. Finally got it open. This is a wonderful little safe. I will be buying another one.

So far so good.
This is a review for the 2.13 cubic feet safe. There were no interior measurements provided by Amazon so here is my closest measurements. Height 18.75in. Width 15.6in. Depth 13.1in The total weight of the safe is approximately 150lbs. Its quite difficult to move around due to how short and squat it is, but its manageable with two people. The safe has not been in a fire nor has it undergone any attempted burglary but I can tell you my impressions. The safe feel of good quality, heavy, and well put together. There is a fair bit of insulation for fire resistance but you may want to have your documents in fire proof bags for additional protection. Locking mechanism is fine, it comes with 3 keys and you can only do one passcode, no finger print recognition. Storage size is quite large, this is a big 2+ cubic foot safe so it can hold quite a bit.

The best investment you will ever make
I bought the 'Magictec motion sensor lights' for the inside of my safe, as someone had suggested in the comments, and it makes me love my little safe even more. There is a removable shelf inside and a section of felt on the bottom to cover the holes you can use if you decide to mount the safe in a wall. HEADS UP! For anyone who had trouble figuring out how to insert the batteries all you need to do is SLIDE the batteries through the slot until they are lined up with each other, on each row like this: BatteryBattery BatteryBattery *Remember to SLIDE them through the slot.* You CANNOT just pop them in like you would on a remote or toy car. I really struggled with putting the batteries in for a while because the ones recommended didn't seem to fit or look like the right size because I have never had to slide the batteries in something before because they usually have their own individual places to insert them. So I was flipping back and forth between the instruction manual and the Amazon customer service chat until I figured it out. It would have been nice if they had stated the exact method of inserting them but I got through it! As for the password set up it was cake compared to the batteries 🙄. When you first set everything up you can set the MAIN PASSWORD & THE MASTER PASSCODE at once. The first password is the one you use every time you open the safe. The Master passcode is what you use in case you forget the first one. The over ride keys are for you to use if you just forget everything!! Another thing I want to mention is that the buttons do make a loud beep for every button you press and three loud beeps for when it is opened (That could be worked on). So, never fear your safe has a back up for everything. Even more so if you get the Asurion warranty on it. This thing is great and I love it although when I opened the door to my safe it had some weird red stuff on the door even though it was packaged like it had never been used. But I just took a clorox wipe to it and it's as good as new. This is a great investment for people who don't want to put their spare money in the bank and for those who don't want to just have it lying around in the open. My new safe definitely makes me feel more secure from people with wandering hands 🔐.

Good product, value for money
If you want to keep laptop inside this locker along with a bag containing jwellery, checkbooks, property papers, it is perfect for you Yes it doesn't have motorised locking and unlocking and you have to manually twist a lever. And also, it doesn't remember your passcode if battery gets drained. But considering the price point, if you want a locker as big as this, with these features you would need to spend at least double this amount, if you go with Godrej and want a size like this. Battery life is quite decent. I put rechargeable 2700 mAH battery about 4 months ago and it is used at least once in two days. So far no issues Overall i would Highly recommend this product.
