Shakespeare One-Piece Medium Heavy Action Ugly Stik Casting Rod

I purchased this Ugly Stick because i own several others models. Like the other models I own, this one is just amazing quality for the price. This rod will last a lifetime and be handed down for generations of fishing. My issue with this rod is the molded in plastic finger grip. I prefer to use the rod flipped over from the side this finger grip determines you use. There is not a way to flip the rod so that the reel Is on the bottom side and be comfortable. Thus, due to this molded in finger grip, you are forced to use with reel on top and can not adjust for use with reel on the bottom of the rod. If not for this I would have given this rod a five. My other Ugly Sticks don't have this issue. (One of the few down sides of ordering on line is not seeing some of these finer details you would see at a store.)

took it fishing for tautog about half a dozen time so far, this rod lives up to the Ugly stix name.For those who doesn't know, Tautogs likes to hide in and under rocks, especially when you hook them.I was running 50lb test braid with 50lbs mono lead.When I hit a snag, my line will break before this rod ever will.I have full confidence in landing big fish with it.I matched it with a PENN Battle 8000, I don't believe there's much I can't handle with this setup.

My teenager is the king of snapping rods when casting! This rod paired with a high end Abu Garcia spinning reel solved that problem. He uses a heavyweight line and big lures. This rod handles the stress beautifully and has helped him haul in some nice largemouth bass and a big fat catfish without a hitch.One again, Shakespeare delivers exactly what we expect in a quality and fairly priced rod!

This was exactly what I was looking for! It is important to have the right rod when fishing from a fish/ski boat. Its 6ft long,and has the reputation to deliver in the heat of a battle. I chose a used one because i needed a rod and some one is looking to get rid of one for a great price. I am looking for another like it! A++++++

This is a good rod for the price. Action is nice and the quality is above expectations.I use it for Salmon fishing from a boat and it works well for fish up to about 30lbs.

I've been using Ugly Sticks for a long time... All I have to say is. Great quality, affordable, and the best part durable. This is one particular is great for bass fishing and it works great with my bait caster.

Excellent value; performs well.. I use it for both fresh water and saltwater. It is Paired with a Penn saltwater line count reel and I'm pleased with the combination.

I;ve had and have other ugly stik casting and spinning rods-they work great. would recommend to anyone whos looking for a good rod and a reasonable price..
