This panorama features the Missouri Tigers football team facing the Vanderbilt Commodores in an inner-conference match-up at Faurot Field. The Tigers victory added to Mizzou's Homecoming celebration, a tradition that started over 100 years ago. Known as the birthplace of Homecoming, it all began in 1911 when former athletic director Chester Brewer, called for alumni to "come home" for the annual football game versus KU. Today, Mizzou Homecoming has grown into one of the largest student-run celebrations of its kind and was recently named the best Homecoming in the nation. The University of Missouri was founded in Columbia, Missouri, in 1839.
