Manfrotto Xpro Monopod+, 4 sections, Aluminum

I added my own manfrotto video head. Overall this is a really great addition to my camera support inventory! Smooth action from the built in head on the base. On top of this I had a Zacuto base plate, gh4 w/ speed booster and sigma 18-35 art lens, smallHD 702 bright, rode video pro mic, and a heavy duty follow focus. The overall rig was pretty heavy but this held up great!

Perfect combination of size/strength in a mono/tri combo. Paired with the Manf ball head - it was a great choice for my Iceland photo tour. It was excellent for birding.

not as sturdy as the sirui but I'm used to manfrotto. I wouldn't walk away and leave it standing alone but it does stand on its own

I am using this Manfrotto monopod for still photography. This would have received a 5-star review if I used the fluid base stand-foot. (See below) I am a bird, wildlife, and nature photographer. I have been using this Manfrotto monopod constantly since I purchased it in December 2022. I wanted something sturdy light and easy to carry in the field for my long lenses so that I did not need to dissemble a tripod to use it's "removable monopod leg". I am 6'1" tall. Maximum length is an important consideration for me. There is length to spare with this monopod. The Manfroto web site lists the maximum weight capacity at just over 44Lbs, not the 18 Lbs. listed in the description above. I did remove the stand-foot and installed a rubber foot. This made for better mobility, turning when panning while following moving animals and birds in flight. The stand-foot was too restrictive when open and extra weight when closed, which turned out to bee all the time, so I removed it. I use this Manfrotto monopod when shooting either my Nikon D7200 or my Nikon D850 and an 800mm f/5.6E Nikkor prime lens. This lens, and either camera frame, are a very heavy combination and I trust the Manfroto monopod completely. The flip-clamps are quick, very secure, and the tension is adjustable if needed. I am using the Wimberly MH-100 MonoGimble head on the monopod and just love it. It is light, supremely strong and secure, and simplistic in design and use. If you are looking for a non-video monopod (without the fluid base stand-foot) you might want to look for the Manfrotto MPMXPROA4(US). It might save you a few bucks if the stand-foot ends up just sits in a bag never used. All said, I do not think that you can go wrong with this monopod. I didn’t.

Though somewhat pricy, Manfrotto products are durable, and work well. I have three monopods, and purchased this aluminum monopod as a quick replacement for my carbon fiber monopod I foolishly forgot at the airport. (No one has turned that monopod in!) This has a heavier load capacity, and I use a full frame mirrorless camera on it without fear. WARNING: it is a monopod. Hold on to your camera at all times. That said, this monopod works very well.

Build quality is good. The fluid base doesn’t make sense if you have a fluid head. The functionality of this doesn’t make sense. There is way too much wiggle room in the base to the monopod so you can’t get smooth pans or movement. There needs to an option to tighten that base. I also wish the feet were a bit wider for more stability. Don’t really feel like it’s worth the price.

Follows in the quality tradition of any other Manfrotto product. This will most likely last a lifetime. ( I have a 30+ year old Manfrotto silver aluminum tripod and heavy duty light stands that still works. I expect the same from this monopod. It is tall enough to see over the crowd and needs little balance to stand alone with a video fluid head attatched. And best of all the price is right.

Greatly surprised at great construction, ease of use... best monopod I have used to date... will upgrade to carbon fiber later.

- Great build quality as one would expect from Manfrotto. - This monopod has a a good maximum height if that is important to you. Great for getting your camera that bit higher: above fence lines, over peoples heads in crowds etc The downside of this height is that when this monopod is collapsed, its not a readily pack-able length. - One doesn't expect a monopod to provide the same kind of firm footed platform as tripod, however the feet on this monopod are simply too short to contribute an appreciable anchored/stabilizing effect. I plan to explore the possibility of modifying the feet to increase their length.

Love this monopod! Kinda wish the chicken foot was a little wider but it's still a great piece of gear. Doesn't come with a case which would have also been nice but whatever.

Product is Amazing. Manfrotto is reliable. Little expensive but great features and compatibility. Go for it if you're in for a long term investment. Cheaper alternatives available like sirui .
