The Golden Age of Musicals Collector's Set

The media could not be loaded. Update--- Disc one contains The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony of 2012 on it. I ordered a replacement and the same thing was on disc one. Currently watching Till The Clouds Roll By, with the likes of Judy Garland (age 22), Angela Lansbury (age ,21), Lena Horne (age 29), and Frank Sinatra( age 31), whats not to love about this classic?! Do you want to buy it yet? I'm not old (born in mid 1980) but movies like this crossed our TV frequently when I was younger. I absolutely love the original pictures as it makes it more authentic when viewing, it looks as if the screen is sparkling which is how it looked back then, it's really enjoyable for me this way. You're thinking about buying it now, aren't you? I'm currently under the weather, it's raining, and I'm in my oversized chair with the oversized ottoman all cozy under my ginormous sherpa blanket and my fluffy pillows and squishmallow my kid got me for Christmas, and I couldn't be happier. Just watching the raw talent dance and sing across my screen is the perfect way to spend thus rainy day while waiting for my antibiotics to take hold! Have you clicked the "buy now" button yet? I'm seeing some of these amazing costumes and plan on showing my 16 yr old daughter as I know she will flip for some of the designs. She may even enjoy watching the talented artists in this particular film, she is really into stuff like this. She's my old lady in a teens body! Anywho, I hope this helps in your decision to definitely buy this classic collection of films filled with music, dancing, and amazing talent, it won't let you down. Just buy it already!

Bought this not knowing what to expect, but was happily surprised at the variety of content. Most of the musicals included in the dvd are not the popular ones of Kelly and Astaire. This does not mean they aren't as fun or as good. There is an absolute gem in Cagney and his dancing. Fun story lines and cute gags. Worth the money and the memories. No you or playing the discs so far and has all the stories mentioned on the flap.

You can't keep your feet still or your voice quiet while watching the beauty and talent in these films

My favorite film in this set is Inspector General. There are some nice vintage movies mostly from the '40s in this set. The first disc is labeled as what the boxed set says it is but it is actually a different disc. Instead of musicals it is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recording. Not what I want but didn't get around to loading it until after the return date so stuck with the set. Hope the other discs contain musicals as listed.

Purchased as gift fit a musical lover and they were really pleased with the collection as they had never seen them. Great for people who love musical films.

I was surprised that back in the thirties that they made musicals with men in drag. Silly me.

great collection of musicals and a bargain at £9 including p&p the majority are great quality prints and some vhs quality but a great set for less than the cost of a single film remember its region 1 so you will need a multi region player so its a no brainer at this price
