I've never spent $85 on a single culinary knife but WOW! It's the sharpest, most beautiful knife I've ever handled. In addition to it being a work of art, it is completely functional. The presentation when opening was excellent! It has a cool wooden box w/knife oil and this awesome little gold-trimmed envelope w/authenticity cert, care instructions and thank you note. This is the level of class that I expected from a true Japanese knife maker and it didn't disappoint. Great Father's Day gift for the Father that does it all! Thank you.

Absolutely beautiful knife! I bought this knife for my husband who had been complaining that my 25 year old German made knives were not honing very well anymore. He loves this knife so much that he hand-crafted the most beautiful knife block and matching cutting board just for it. He even crafted a small box to hold the vial of oil. I plan to purchase the others in this set as I can afford to do so. It is such a pleasure to purchase and use a knife of great quality. Thank you!

I work in an institutional kitchen and I use my knives all day long. Carving turkey, meatloaf, giant pork loins, cases upon cases of chicken. It’s a lot. And this knife slides right through all of it. I keep it quite sharp and it holds its edge for months even through the very heavy usage. Would totally recommend and buy again. Happy cooking!

This was probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever unpacked. Great presentation, box was cool, product speaks for itself. You can see the Damascus design and visibly sharp edge. Well-balanced and fits in the hand well.

Beautiful knife with a sharp edge. It’s actually a little scary. I purchased one for a friend and am buying another as a gift. Feels great in the hand, balanced perfectly for me. The design is just right for a two finger grip.

I’m moving to Japan in a few weeks, and I bought this knife for a long time coworker of mine as sort of a parting gift to thank him. I was amazed by the quality of the blade and how easy it is to hold. I can also tell how attention to detail was front and center. He was really happy to receive it. Now I think I need to get one for myself, haha

This knife has been great for everything I've used it for. Dicing potatoes, chopping onions, shredding lettuce or butchering meat. It's easy to hold and feels great in my hand. Not to mention its design is beautiful as well.

Small blade chips have come off in multiple spots after under 20 uses.... not safe!!

The biggest purchase regret I’ve done for the last 7 years of Amazon shopping “Absolute garbage! This so-called 'Japanese' knife is a complete sham. It couldn't even slice through butter without chipping, let alone cutting meat! Save your money and buy a plastic butter knife instead. I've never been so disappointed with a purchase in my life. Zero stars if I could!"

Wanted to offer this as a present. The box is nice and very well packaged. The knife seems to be super sharp and of great quality.

Been putting this knife to work for 2 years. It is incredibly well-balanced, which helps a lot during long prep sessions. Still razor-sharp and performs exactly like the day I got it (with proper maintenance). Highly recommended Ps. This knife can do a normal clean cut paper test out of the box. This knife will NOT do the standing paper test out from the box.
