There is no "record" sound, no pops.The new compilation released as "Midnight, The Stars, and You," alas has that "record" sound and occasional pops and some strange dynamics moving from right to left.For the title song, I'd pick this one for sound quality. For more diverse songs you're more likely to like along with this one, I'd pick that newer one.

Good collection of music. Especially like “Midnight the stars and you “ from “The Shining” I wish it sound quality had been brought up to date so you could appreciate the orchestra better.

I love the old music and although I bought this for The Shining theme, I ended up liking all of the songs.

We had to have this because one of the songs is played at the end of "The Shining". We were both happy with the way the music sounded (the quality). The music/songs were just really fun to listen to.Buy it, you will enjoy it.

Definitely "therapeutic" classics from this period -- made us an instant fan of everything he's done!

Couldn't of done better with the recording, but not bad!!
