The Little Gardener (Teenie Greenies) Board book – Lift the flap, January 24, 2012

We were able to use this for a virtual parent gardening group for a Healthy Families program. The toddlers enjoyed the pictures under the flaps and we were able to easily translate the words into Spanish as well. The pictures are bright, friendly and adorable. We were able to address the basics of gardening while building their vocabulary skills.

Love this book! As an avid gardener I always involve my toddler in our gardening. I'm thrilled to have a book about gardening for story time. I thought the inclusion of the need to remove slugs from the garden was accurate yet amusing. Being in a damp climate slugs are a total nightmare for gardeners here, they eat everything! If you can't handle dealing with the bugs you can't handle gardening. My child is already learning that in real life. For kids who don't have the opportunity to garden it's good for them to see it's not as simple as putting seeds in the ground, add water, and voila - food! Any other gardening book makes it seem too easy. This one is more realistic while keeping it very simple for a toddler to understand.

I bought this for my niece who is showing a great interest in gardening. I also bought her a set of child gardening tools. She loves the book!

I like this book. For the price it is a bargain. The weight and quality are good for little hands. My great grandson and his father like to garden, so the content is perfect to expand his vocabulary. My only complaint is that some of the flaps open to the right, others open to the left, and still others open down or up. This could be confusing for a child who is the age and developmental level to need a board book.

This book is so cute! I got it as part of a gardening gift for my daughter and she adores the little flaps. It’s a good size to throw in my purse before we run errands - she can look at it anywhere. The illustrations are cute and it’s easy one word objects - perfect learning tool for my 2 year old

Toddler loved reading about gardening

This is the cutest little hard book for children under the age of 3. Colorful and fun to point out all the neat things about being outdoors. I gave as a gift for a 1st birthday!
